| : an off day : tonite is an offday for us ... spent most of it in the hotel ... writing ... preparing for Ozzfest tomorrow ... the tv is on ... mostly for noise ... to keep the silence from interrupting my focus ... i took a break around 8 pm ... started flipping thru channels ... came across a few things that i wanted to write about ... american pop star who says? your standards are pretty low america. they don't write their own songs - the lyrics, the music, they don't struggle over it ... whether its good enuff, if its communicating the message clearly, if it relays the purity of creation ... they are manipulated ... prefabricated cookie cutter skim milk icons of diet society ... told what to wear ... what to sing ... how to dance ... what face to bring ... their biggest concern is hair care products ... designer labels ... teeth whitening strips ... manicures ... pedicures ... waxing ... for them, everything is external ... the internal world is ignored ... and why are they called pop stars? ... when something pops, sure its loud, everyone takes notice ... but it also disappears rather quickly ... i can only hope ... and has anyone else noticed the abundance of attacks lately? 4 children kidnapped - some still missing - some raped & murdered, pro-athletes being arrested for domestic violence while wielding guns, r&b singers raping underage gurls and young womyn ... has something escaped the abyss and is now infecting the male psyche with a hunger for violence? ... or is this some subconscious mutiny in the male mind to recover some control in this uncertain atmosphere of economic collapse? ... or the threat to the empire by hidden hives of terrorist cells? ... who cares? ... who dares? ... to take a stand ... to make a change ... to fight fight fight these monsters ... to make them all go away? ... and enron and WorldCom and the stock market and gwbush and passive aggressive uninvolved crying creatures of the upper class ... what a joke ... ever notice that just when it looks as if bush or someone in his administration might involved in something a bit corrupt the nation goes on alert from another "unconfirmed report of a possible threat" somewhere, sometime in the not so clear future ... alright ... its getting late ... have a big show tomorrow ... pittsburgh ozzfest ... gonna head over to www.michaelmoore.com and then a little reading ... then its off to dreamland ... until next time ... |
