| : 7 . 26 : thots ... its 6:03 pm EST ... i'm in the hotel ... the door is locked ... the tv is on ... spilling the simpsons all over my room ... i've just finished reviewing some poetry i wrote last week ... now i'm just staring at the screen on my laptop ... fingers resting comfortably on the keys ... i keep catching myself staring at the unopened cans of soda on the desk ... i know i'm supposed to be writing something clever and poetic ... but this is all thats coming to mind ... my thots keep wandering ... to the crisis in Israel and the bombs in Tel Aviv ... to the Corporate pillaging of our economic trusts ... to the fact that i've been avoiding the book i'm reading ... i know i should be exploring its chapters but i can't summon the focus ... i'm worried about Sharon Osbourne ... its amazing how one person can make so much of a difference in this world ... she is living proof of that ... my throat is sore ... i think the climate changes and the relentlessness of the bus a/c have taken my vocal chords under siege ... but we have a few days off and i am keeping to a strict regiment of hot tea and honey lemon lozenges ... we've just finished 2 consecutive days of OZZFEST in New Jersey ... and its been amazing so far ... the fans have been absolutely inspiring ... wild, crazy, hungry, infectious ... they respect us so much for the art that we make ... for the message we communicate ... for the brutality and elucidation of our live performances ... but no matter the venue, i always get the same questions ... do i use effects on my voice? NO. is it really me making those sounds? YES. how do you make your voice do that? I DON'T KNOW. do i write all the lyrics? YES. do i draw all the little creatures on the site and in the album booklet? YES. do i do anything other that write songs?
