Shopping in Eindhoven

Winkelcentrum Woensel - Today we shopped at the local mall.  It' an open mall, with no roof.  Had several of my favorite shops, bookstores! I made some cool purchases.

Dutch still have phone booths, though nothing like the Tardis, they are still kinda cool looking.

Wasn' too cold in the afternoon with some sun out, but as the evening neared, like about 4pm, the chill wind bit.

After getting Annette' pictures developed, we went to McDonald's for lunch.  I asked for a glass of ice water, and got a bottle of water.  I asked for a cup of ice, and got a cup with 1/3 full of ice. I asked again, for more ice, and got 1/2 a cup of ice.  One more time, asked to fill it up, the lady looked at me funny but I finally got a full cup of ice.

Wooden shoes! I finally found some.  $15 and they were mine :)

Last place was the grocery store.  In front was a man playing the accordian for change.  I asked him if I could take a picture and he was kind enough to agree.

Eindhoven's stores are basically smaller in scale, but offer a good variety.  Didn' see any white bread, but tons of other kinds of bread, sliced and unsliced.

A lot of stuff is in English.  They had cards in English, books, even Nestle's hot chocolate mix. Thank goodness they have Coca-cola!  However, my sister Christi would be nuts, because they have absolutely NO Dr. Pepper.

Top dog is Joeran, a Berner Sennen, her official name is Zilla van de Watering. She's 10 years old and that's pretty old for that type of dog, but she's beautiful and sweet. The smaller dog is Spotty, younger and more fiesty, Spotty always wants to play. While I was visiting Annette I would sit at her computer desk and they would curl around my feet. Made me miss my own dog, Ditto. Annette has since moved from her shared apartment in Eindhoven to her own place and may even move again to Haarlem.
