She Hears a Baby's Cry

Startled from a dreamless sleep,
Darkness all around,
In the darkened house of night,
Listening for the sound,
She hears a baby's cry.
Only by a mother's ears will this
sound be heard.
Only in a mother's heart will the joy
be stirred.
She rises to the beckoning cry
That may be troublesome in another's
eye.
To this mother it brings delight
To be awakened in the night
She hears a baby's cry.
Stumbling down a moonlit hall
Where pictures hang upon the wall,
A baby girl, alight with smiles,
Loved by all, this little child,
She hears a baby's cry.
Chilled by the air of night,
Heedless of her ongoing plight,
She continues on a mother's search
Of a child in the night,
She hears a baby's cry.
In a room once filled with light,
Now darkened, yet not by night,
In her mind nothings changed.
In her heart it feels the same
She hears a baby's cry.
In the corner a rocking chair
Beckons her to join it there,
Reminding her of times gone by
And a baby's favorite lull-a-bye.
She hears a baby's cry.
She rocks and sings "hush-a-by",
Till she no longer hears the cry.
As the sunrise chases away the night,
Darkness fills this mother's heart.
For instead of behold her baby's
charms,
She sits staring at empty arms.
She hears a mother's cry.

Keep my memories with you
For memories never die
I will be there with you
When you look across the sky.

I will be there in the clouds
In the birds that fill the air.
In the beauty of a fragrant rose
You will find my memory there.

You will feel me in the tenderness
Of a tiny baby's touch
You will hear me if you listen
In the twilight's gentle hush.

When your hearts are heavy
And you feel you are alone
Just reach down deep inside of you
For your heart is now my home.

I will always be with you

I will never go away
For I will live on in your hearts
Forever and a day.
Do Babies Grow Up In Heaven?

Will I know my baby when we meet again?
Will she have grown up, not be the infant that died in womb?
Will I recognize her, be able to find her among so many others?
Or will she be a stranger to me, not knowing who I am,
        or me knowing her?

Do babies grow up in heaven?
She never got her first tooth, or said her first words.
No first shoes, no Santa, no first birthday cake.
Will my daughter still be a baby when we meet again?

Do babies grow up in heaven?
Who sings her precious lullabies?
Who holds her close and kisses her everyday?
Who tells her constantly that they love her?

Do babies grow up in heaven?
When we next meet, will she know me?
Will she want to know me?
Will she be my daughter who died while in my womb, or a woman fully grown?
Will I have the joy of being a mother to my daughter for all eternity?

Do babies grow up in heaven?
Will I be able to hold her, love her, sing lullabies to her?
Will I be able to hold her tiny hand, or will it be a woman's hand?
Will I ever have the joy that only holding my daughter can bring?
I need to know! In heaven, is my baby still a baby?

A Child's Angel

Once upon a time
There was a child ready to be born.
One day she asked God;

"They tell me you are sending
Me to earth tomorrow,
How am I going to live there,
Being so small and helpless?"

God replied,
"Among the many angels,
I chose one for you.
She will be waiting for you,
And will take care of you."

"But tell me, here in Heaven,
I don't do anything else but sing and smile,
That's enough for me to be happy."

"Your angel will sing for you,
And will also smile for you every day.
And you will feel,
Your angel's love and be happy."

"How am I going to be able to understand,
When people talk to me, if I don't know
The language that men talk?"

"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful,
And sweet words you will ever hear,
And with much patience and care,
Your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do,
When I want to talk to you?"

"Your angel will place your hands together,
And will teach you how to pray."

I've heard that on earth, there are bad men.
Who will protect me?"

"Your angel will defend you,
Even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad,
Because I will not see you anymore."

"Your angel will always talk to you,
About me and will teach you the way,
For you to come back to me,
Even though I'll always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven.
The voices from earth could already be heard.
And the child in a hurry asked softly:

"Oh God, if I am about to leave now,
Please tell me my angel's name."

"Your angel's name is of no importance,
You will call your angel:
"Mommy"
