Occurs when
guinea pig is left in the sun too long |
If your guinea pig's mouth begins
to water, and breathes rapidly, just simply place it in a cold cold wet
towel for about 10 minutes, and it'll be fine. |
| Diarrhea |
Occurs because the food isn't
healthy enough for the stomachs |
Change their diet. Give it less
of everything, and make sure that their water isn't TOO cold or that the
environment is too humid or too cold either. |
| Sneezing |
The bedding, dust around or
spoiled hay |
Don't place bedding if your
guinea pig is allergic to it. |
| Eyes are swollen or watery |
Occurs when too much dust
attaches to eyes or irritation from hairs reaching into the eyes |
Clean their eyes or just leave
them. They could handle it themselves sometimes. |
| Refuses to Eat |
Food = Spoiled, The room is
either too cold or too warm, need fresh water |
Buy fresh food and fill their
water bottles with fresh water, and make sure the room is just the right
temperature. |
| Areas of Hair Loss |
Need Vitamins, hair biting from
lack of roughage and fiber in the food |
Feed Vitamins, and make sure
food has fiber and roughage |
| Sits around alone |
Lost a companion, bored, lack of
affection, or exercise |
Either buy your guinea pig a new
companion, or play with it more often. |
