I grew up with the Beaver. And I would watch this show faithfully. Beaver and I were going to be married one day, he didn't know that , but I did. Even after it went off the air I watched the reruns in syndication, still do when I can find them. Sure it was hokey sometimes and probably by today's standards it was hokey all of the time, but I loved it and millions of other people did too!
Mr. Cleaver would go to work, come home and be a suportive husband and father. He taught his boys by example and by reminding them in situations the lesson they were learning at the time. Mrs. Cleaver on the other hand kept a super clean house, cooked complete meals and done all of this in her best dress and high heel shoes!I still have not got that one figured out!!
Wally, the older brother was a good kid, his only vice was a kid named Eddie Haskel.Eddie was the worse kind of friend, he was forever trying to get into trouble and get Wally and Beaver to help him. He was super respectful in front of the parents and just the opposite other wise. My children had friends like him! Beaver was the cute little brother who just got into trouble by being a Kid. He didn't mean to do the things he did, it just happened. Jerry Mathers played Beaver and no one else could have. There will never be another Beaver, thanks Jerry for this wonderful childhood memory. |
