| Sport Exhausts |
| Many different sport exhaust systems are offered on the market. The most well known names are REMUS and SEBRING. The products of REMUS and SEBRING are offered worldwide by many automotive suppliers, which all claim that their sport exhaust system from REMUS or SEBRING give more horse power and torque. I searched the whole web, butn't couldn't found any facts, reports or diagrams who conform this, neither how the sport exhaust exactly work compared to standard once. Any additional information on this matter is welcome, just send me a mail The website of REMUS tells us: Using a special inner construction the backpressure is reduced by 35-85% which generates 3-5% more output and torque. This difference is not only visuable on the measuring-stand, but can also be felt during driving. The special construction also allows a fuel reduction. The grafic that I have seen show a Golf III VR6, which generates about 4% more horse power around 5500 - 6000 rpm, so that is has 180hp instead of 175hp. As a diesel engine has not as many torque and horse power in at higher rpm's as in low, it will have a positive effect on the accelaration at higher speeds and the top speed it self. The manufactor L&W of sport exhausts have a special inner construction with "inner wholes" that generates a "turbo" effect and gives an enormous amount of extra horse power and torque. Unfortunatly can't any fact or figures be found on their page. Manufactor Ravin uses a special Z-Wave technology which has the same performance effect as the above mentioned sport exhausts. Remus offers also a Z-Flow Metallkat, as replacement of the standard kemarikkats. Advantages compared to standards kats are: - Up 55% lower exhaust emissions - Optimizes exhaust flows - Reduces back pressure - Increases performance The Z-FLow is available for VW Golf II & II and Passat and OPEL Kadatt & Astra models. Prices are around Euro 700,--. |
