~Mooch Mobile News~
The mooch mobile is currently receiving a few mods and changes/improvements to ready it for the 2002 Extreme Horsepower Supershow. A few things lead to this and here's the main ones:

Some poor "ug booted" clutch work left a nasty trophy on the back tailgate.
The use of PULP instead of avgas ensured the end of number 3 bearing.
The bubbles on the top of the front guard needed to be fixed.
and finally,
The cracked dash needed minor repairs.
The bubbles on the guards turned out to be "shock horror" rust!! so that was quickly rectified with some metal surgery. The dremel made a sure job of carefully cutting out a 50c sized rust section, and dads handy work  saw a new section migged in and smoothed ready for primer in no time. Wet rags were used to prevent any warpage that may occur and help also stop paint burn on surrounding areas.
The finished rust repair awaiting polyester primer.
The gem, equiped with stands underneath for safety. Working in our new but uncompleted garage is great. Insulated and soon to be lined walls make working at night a pleasure. The fine line taped flames can be seen. These were just playings! now we've elected to fit a hornet junior scoop and flame the whole front and side of the car in platinum pearl. Then reclear it this time in acrylic clear!! 2k is too much maintenance on a dark car.
The motor is coming out to go down to Soaring Phoenix Mechanical. There they will replace any thing that needs it and machine anything that needs it. A decomp plate will be thrown in to drop comp to around 9.8:1 courtesy of OG Speed Shop and an adjustable cam sprocket courtesy of Crow. This will ensure PULP will be ok for cruising. A repaint and the motor will be back and firing again! - however possibly with a slight torque loss due to the lower comp.
The dash receieved some custom fibreglass, expanding foam and bog work to sink an oil pressur, temp and tach guages in. The ash tray, ciggy lighter and fan switch are gone too.
The photo is a tad over exposed but u can still make out the moulded shape. This is after about 20 hrs work. It takes time to get things right! The whole top of the dash is fibreglased enuring NO MORE CRACK! It will now be high fill primed, rubbed and painted body colour.
