| Guardian Forces are creatures that are obtained throughout Final Fantasy 8 to come to your party's aid in battle. Each Guardian Force shares similarities to each member of the Final Fantasy 8 cast, in that each have health points (HP), each gain experience (EXP), each gain artistic points (AP), and each can grow with level. Guardian Forces are assigned specific abilities to learn by way of attaining AP points throughout the game. The abilities are either innate or command activated, depending on what type of ability a Guardian Force can learn. The four categories of abilities are - command, junction, Guardian Force, and character abilities. The abilites as above stated can be learned through gaining AP points, and some can grow to become new abilities once certain requirements are met. There are 16 known Guardian Forces in Final Fantasy 8 with a few that are not regularly attainable. |
