| When he was a small child, Squall Leonhart was dropped off at an orphanage to live, unaware of the status of his parents. He spent much of his youth growing up at the Kramer Orphanage on the southern tip of the Centra continent. Standing alone, the stone building that Squall called home was also his place of solitude. While he was growing up, he was taken under the wings of the mysterious girl known as Ellone, whom he simply referred to as "Sis." As he grew, he learned to love and respect Ellone, along with the other five children left there at the orphanage as well. At the age of seven, Squall was taken from his stone surroundings and placed in a student program at Balamb Garden and military facility, the second largest of three total Gardens in the world. This was a significant change for Squall - having gone from a simple stone orphanage in the middle of no - where, to a massive indoor facility that was Garden, too significant enough not to think that his mental and emmotional stability has forever faltered. Growing up in Balamb Garden from then on as a student, Squall began to slowly alienate himself from all people, speaking onyl when spoken to, and living his life as he pleased. As a teenager of seventeen years old, he is now looked at by most as a lone wolf, and someone who lacks in team spirit. Readying himself for the SeeD test, he comes across new friends that will help him on his quest. Armed with a gunblade, he is ready to tackle any task handed to him. He one day learns the true meaning of SeeD, and must prepare for the battle of his life. That battle will take place alongside his newly encountered friends, and a love interest that will turn his world inside out. |
