The Characters

Cloud Strife

This is Cloud Strife. At the age of 21, Cloud leads the life of a mercenary for hire and is an ex-member of Shinra's elite squad known as SOLDIER. Cloud joins the rebel group known as AVALANCHE in saving the planet but does it only for the money, at first. The story line of Final Fantasy VII revolves around Cloud and his powerful sword techniques are unmatched.

Barret Wallace

This is Barret Wallace. He's the 35-year old leader of the rebel team AVALANCHE. He leads the team in trying to stop Shinra's Mako Reactors and to save the planet itself. He has a daughter named Marlene who he regrets leaving in his quest to save the planet. Barret has always believed that Shinra was responsible for the death of his wife.

Tifa Lockheart

This is Tifa Lockheart. Tifa and Cloud were childhood friends but parted ways when Cloud left his hometown of Nibelheim to join SOLDIER. After her parents died, Tifa left Nibelheim and moved to Midgar where she opened her bar, Tifa's Seventh Heaven. There, she met Barret and joined AVALANCHE.

Aeris Gainsborough

This is Aeris Gainsborough. She is my favorite character from Final Fantasy VII and perhaps the whole Final Fantasy series. Aeris is a 22-year-old flower seller who is a bright spot in the middle of the dark and dreary town of Midgar. Because of her mysterious background, Shinra has pursued her for most of her life and now she must fight against those who look to capture her. Although her physical attacks are weak, her magic is arguably the best in the game.

Red XIII

This is Red XIII. Even though his fiery fur makes him look like a wild animal, Red XIII's intellect is well above that of most humans. Red XIII's past is a big mystery and was held captive in Shinra's headquarters where he was forced to participate in many twisted experiments conducted by Hojo.

Cid Highwind

This is Cid Highwind. Cid is an expert pilot and mechanic who has always dreamed of one day becoming the first man in space. His dream may have been fulfilled, but he aborted a launch in order to save the life of one of his crew. Ever since that day, he has spent his time trying to repair his inoperable rocket and hopes that Shinra may one day reinstate its space program and give him another chance. Cid is perhaps one of the funniest characters in the game and always knows exactly what to say.

Yuffie Kisaragi

This is Yuffie Kisaragi. She is a 16-year-old ninja who has spent most of her time preying on helpless travelers until she met up with Cloud's party. Her clever wit and ninja skills coupled with her selfish ways made her both a powerful ally and a serious pain. I really thought that she was the most annoying character in the game though. Always stealing my money and materia!

Cait Sith

This is Cait Sith. Cait Sith's fortune telling ability may not be all that good but his fighting skills are quite original. You first meet this character while wandering around the Gold Saucer and this is where he joins your group in order to see if his predictions prove to be true.

Vincent Valentine

This is Vincent Valentine. Vincent Valentine was a former member of the TURKS whose career with Shinra led to the death of the object of his affection, Lucrecia. Although he may look evil at first, there's a good soul trapped beneath his dark exterior. Vincent's hatred toward Shinra leads him to join Cloud's party in the quest to save the planet.

Sephiroth

This is Sephiroth. He was one of my favorite characters in Final Fantasy VII. Sephiroth is amongst the elite troops of SOLDIER and is known to be the best. His past has been locked away by Shinra, Inc. but is revealed little by little as you progress through the game. He is the only one who can handle his giant sword, the masamune blade, which has extremely destructive power. He was said to have disappeared in a battle years ago but has reappeared to wreak havoc on the planet in his quest to destroy it.
