Frank Ebbitt enjoyed a long career in the Air Force where he retired as Master Sergeant.  During his 22 years, his duties varied from statistical clerk to supervisor of the motor pool, and training instructor.  He also did a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Starting at Langley AFB in Virginia he was clerk-typist and then a chauffer for the general.

In 1954 he and his wife and two daughters went to Japan for two years where he worked in the motor pool.  The family returned to Lackland Air Force Base in 1957 where Frank was a training instructor until he was sent to Washington, D.C.

While stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in 1963, he was in charge of making motor pool arrangements for the emergency inauguration of Lyndon Johnson after President John F. Kennedy's assassination.

In 1965 he was sent to Vietnam where he continued with duties in the motor pool.  He returned to the US in 1967 and then retired in 1969.

He received numerous letters of commendation as well as service medals.
