Juan Paez
brother of Francisco Paez, Sr.
This relationship is currently being researched.  I have been told that Francisco's brother Juan was a police officer in Laredo.  A monument exists in the town square which honors Laredo's police officers, and Juan Paez's name does appear there, as shown in the photographs above.

The police department provided the photo of Officer Juan Paez that is shown here, and which was taken in 1926.  Unfortunately, they do not have records which date that far back, so the only information that could be given was that Juan Paez was on the force that year.  He did not, however, appear in the official photograph taken in 1936.

Juan Paez did not die in the line of duty, but is honored for his service.  (Officers who died in the line of duty have a star next to their name on the monument.)

In researching the birth records for Laredo, I found that a man by the name of Juan Paez had several children with a woman named Alicia Solis between 1933 and 1946.  Those children are Anita, Delia, Olga Maria, Guadalupe Enlalia, and Eulalio.

The name of the father for the last birth, in 1946, is not Juan Paez, but rather, "Death Number Exists."   I am assuming that Juan Paez died before the birth of this child.

Whether or not the Juan Paez listed in these birth certificates is the Laredo police officer, and whether or not that officer is actually Francisco's brother is what I am trying to verify.

If this information sounds familiar to anyone, please
contact me.  In the meantime, I have requested a copy of one of the birth certificates, which may tell me Juan's occupation, and possibly his place of birth.  From there I can hopefully research him further.
