The deadline is being moved back once again back to October 31, 2006 (Halloween). The first reason is that several have expressed that more time would allow them time to complete their submission and that a Halloween deadline would be more suitable to the challenge itself. The second is that during a couple of weeks in August (during the previous deadline), I will be in New Orleans tearing down remains from the hurricanes last year and will not be able to tally for voting or accept late submissions on those days. So, those who were worried that you wouldn't have enough time, you have a breather. Good luck and keep writing!

The deadline will now be August 15, 2006 so that people will be able to keep up with their studies in school and will have ample time for the summer to get their project done in time for the voting. Keep writing, guys.

Okay, guys and gals. You asked for a new challenge and this is it after taking a poll on the message board. Basically, voting won out for a Michael Myers Vs. ????? Challenge.

I'm not going to make many restrictions on this since we really have no guidlelines to follow. The few restrictions that we will have:

It must feature the Halloween series and cross over with ONE other franchise, whether it be a movie, book, or another fanfic series. Having a battle royal, while a fun idea, becomes more about too many other franchises and less about Halloween.

However, there is one exception to this rule. If two series have crossed over already (i. e. Friday the 13th & Nightmare On Elm Street or Alien Vs. Predator), that would mean that both series' characters would be eligibile for a crossover with Halloween. The fact that Freddy battled Jason puts each other as part of each mythology and can be used in the script.

Other than that, I'd say to have fun with it and we'll be accepting submissions until May 15, 2006. That's six months from now, so there's more than enough time for everyone to work on this and other things you may be already doing.

The challenge is underway!
