EXT. KARA'S HOUSE-MORNING-WE MOVE UP ACROSS KARA'S FRONT YARD AND OVER TO A WINDOW ON THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE.THROUGH THIS WINDOW WE CAN SEE KARA AND STEVEN IN THE KITCHEN.

INT. THE HOUSE-THE KITCHEN-STEVEN IS DRESSED FOR SCHOOL,EATING CEREAL. KARA IS DRESSED IN CASUAL CLOTHES SINCE SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO WORK TODAY.

STEVEN: Mommy?

KARA: Yeah.

STEVEN: Are you going out with Adam tonight?

KARA: I think so.

STEVEN: So does that mean Shondra is going to babysit me?

KARA: Hopefully.Adam's asking her today after school.

STEVEN: (smiles)I hope she can.I like her.

EXT. ADAM'S HOUSE-DAY-PARKED IN ADAM'S DRIVEWAY IS HIS CAR,PARKED IN HIS YARD IS A HADDONFIELD SCHOOL BUS.BUS NUMBER 13.IT IS OBVIOUS FROM THE BIG BARN IN HIS BACKYARD AND THE HUGE CORNFIELD STRETCHING BACK BEHIND IT THAT ADAM LIVES IN THE COUNTRY.

The front door of the house opens and Adam comes out,holding a set of keys.

He walks to his bus,opens the doors,and gets in.

After a couple seconds the bus starts up and drives onto the street.

EXT. A HADDONFIELD STREET-DAY-SETH,FROM EARLIER,AND BROOKE PERKINS,16, ARE WALKING DOWN A SIDEWALK.

SETH: He's got a million grandpa stories.Are you sure that's the one he tried to tell me last night?

BROOKE: Yeah,probably.He was talking about you the other night and he used that one in reference to you.

SETH: What the hell does it mean?

BROOKE: Basically it means to live in reality,not a dream world.Don't wish to change your life,change your life. At other times he means that sex is better than anything,so go out and get laid.It could possibly mean he wants you to either get a life or get a hooker.

SETH: What a wise man.Are there even any hookers in Haddonfield?

Brooke stops and thinks for a while,then-

BROOKE: Well,no,not unless you count Dominique Bitterman,that senior chick.

SETH: No.Dominique isn't a hooker,she's just a school slut.I don't think she gets paid.

Brooke and Seth are walking by a row of bushes when Kyle suddenly jumps out of the bushes and lands infront of them,yelling.

This kind of makes Brooke and Seth jump,but not really.The most affected will be the audience, who had the accompanyment of the soundtrack to scare them.

KYLE: (acting like a rapper)Whazzup,whazzup,whazzup?

Kyle wraps his arms around Brooke's waist and kisses her,then releases her and steps back.

BROOKE: What are you doing?

KYLE: You two are way late.I've been hiding behind that bush for,like,fifteen minutes.

SETH: Has Shondra gone by yet?

KYLE: No,I have not yet seen the love of your life.But I do now.

Kyle is facing Brooke and Seth,so he can see over there shoulders,seeing Shondra coming down the sidewalk about ten yards back.Shondra is Shondra Hooper,also 16.

Brooke and Seth turn around to see her as she approaches.

SHONDRA:Hi.

SETH: (smiles)Hi.

Seth and Shondra kiss.

They pull apart.

SHONDRA: Where were you last night?I tried to call you around nine thirty.

SETH:I was out with Kyle.

SHONDRA: What were you two doing this time?

The four teens resume their walk.

KYLE: We toilet papered Mister Griffith's house.

BROOKE: Did you get caught again?

KYLE: Us?Get caught?Never.

SETH: They did get back while we were doing it,though,and we had to run.He may have sicced his dog on us at one point,but it never caught.

KYLE: Yeah,cause the idiot left the dog's collar on.Mister Griffith has one of those underground electric fences that you put a collar on your dog so that when it crosses the fence line, it'll get shocked.He sent the dog after us but didn't take it's collar off.So when the dog reached the fence line it turned around and went back.You know,for a principal Mister Griffith is pretty stupid.

BROOKE: God,I hate taking the bus to school.

KYLE: Buy a car then.I'm not allowed to a get car just because I crashed my dad's.He says I'm a danger on the road.It wasn't my fault I crashed the car.His damn cup holder fell off the dash and spilled my beer all over my lap.And that's why I crashed the car.Faulty engineering.
