Leadership is not a "wham-bam-thank you ma'am" I got my money program if
that is what you want choose an award so you can wash your hands of the
recruits. What do you do as a leadership representative? You are
responsible for recruiting of your representatives, training them, mentoring
them, doing follow-up training, etc.
As of C20,2003, the current Unit Leader Certification Process is being replaced with a Qualification process that
consists of the following:

As soon as a new Representative is appointed, she may begin to appoint new Representatives by
borrowing her Upline Representatives Avon or mark Appointment Kits. She does not have to observe
a District Manager/Upline Avon or mark appointment, nor does she need to be observed by the District
Manager/Upline Representative before she conducts her first appointment. However, when your new
Representative starts to recruit and appoint, it remains your responsibility to ensure that the Avon and
mark appointment processes are followed in their entirety by:
-Following the new Avon presentation and training
-Completing the Contract Scoring Sheet
-Completing the Contract correctly
So she can easily duplicate the correct process with others.
As soon as a Representative orders a Leadership Success Kit, she is eligible to order Avon and mark
Appointment Kits in the very same campaign the Success Kit was ordered. As of C20,2003, that
information will be clearly stated under Leadership in the Avon and mark Appointment Kit ordering
section of the purchase order.
When the Leadership Success Kit is ordered immediately, she will also qualify to become a Unit Leader
in the campaign that she fulfills the Unit Leader qualifications:
-$250 Personal Award Sales
-5 Active Recruits
-$1,400 Total Unit Sales
However, if she has not ordered a Leadership Success Kit by the time she meets the Unit Leader
qualifications shown above, she will be titled a Unit Leader and will receive a bonus for that first
campaign only. She must order the kit by the following campaign in order to regain her title and receive
bonuses.
This process was created to give her a grace period in which to order the Success Kit, as we know that
she may have had a Grand Opening and/or may be appointing others right from the start allowing her
to achieve the title of Unit Leader within her first campaign of selling. But she may not have ordered
the Success Kit as yet and we want to ensure that nothing gets in her way of becoming a Unit Leader.
If the Success Kit is not ordered by the 6th campaign of having been titled a Unit Leader, then she will
be removed from Leadership and lose her downline.
Ordering the Leadership Success Kit and being tagged "Leadership" (she recruited someone and
chose Leadership on the contract) will also allow the new Leadership Representative to submit
Appointment Forms on-line. Until that time, she will only be able to submit hard copies of the Contract
via mail or fax because the system wont recognize her until she is tagged both Leadership and as
having ordered the Success Kit. Direct her to begin using this function as soon as she achieves both
qualifications to insure that she doesnt have any challenges entering the site.
Lastly, the process to attain the Executive Unit Leader level has also been made simpler:
The Executive Unit Leader Certification Booklet must be ordered prior to qualifying for
the Executive Unit Leader level.
It can be ordered anytime after the Leadership Success Kit has been ordered.
Implications of these changes:
All Upline Representatives will want to order additional Avon and mark Appointment kits each campaign
to have on hand to lend to all new appointment makers.
Beginning in C20,2003, District Managers will no longer have go into the system to certify Unit
Leaders nor Executive Unit Leaders.
Any current Leadership Representatives who have ordered the Leadership Success Kit, but have not
yet been certified by the District Manager by the end of C19, will automatically be considered eligible to
order Avon and mark Appointment Kits and achieve Unit Leader (when they have met the other
qualifications) in C20 (C22 TS) and beyond.
No longer will District Managers need to authorize Advanced Unit Leaders and above to certify new
Appointment Makers.
No longer will District Managers and Advanced Unit Leaders and above need to coordinate their
schedules with new Leadership Representatives to be observed conducting Appointments or observe a
new Appointment Maker conducting Appointments.
No longer will District Managers and Leadership Representatives have to sign the Unit Leader
Agreement form. It no longer exists.
