FIREWIRE IN, USB OUT

For a long time, Firewire (IEEE 1394) wasn’t a mighty Standard in consumer market. USB was superior in PC sector for years. But, today this state is starting to change. Because, Firewire is provided rater and continuous stream of data bits as to USB and it supports different hardware but they are more important.

Firewire has higher data transfer rate. For example, when recorded to HDD firewire provides more adventage than USB [1]. However rate of USB is insufficient on CD-ROM, HDD, scanner, printer, modem, etc. devices [2]. Firewire is faster than USB as to tests on different hardwares [3].

When videos recorded to HDD continuous stream of data bits are important.USB isn’t provide continuous stream of data bits for video record to HDD [1]. Video is created as to TV - Radio broadcast quality with firewire. So when video on cameras is transfered to other digital devices with firewire, data aren’t to lost.

Some hardwares supported by firewire and USB are different than each other. USB supports simple devices which necessitated low rate. For example, mouse, keyboard, printer etc. But Firewire supports complex and important devices which necessitated high rate. For example, Video Camcorders, Harddisk and Music Synthesizer etc. USB doesn’t support these hardware [4]

These two technologies have own power ways and these are multimedia industry standard. More their characters are common. There are also superiority of USB. For example, USB support more devices as to Firewire (USB 127, Firewire 63). But, this is not important. Because, Firewire supports more important and complex devices. Generally Firewire is beter than USB because of its more development technology. Separately its usage is easier and provides transmission with longer cables.
