Competence OF SWITCH

Networks are social area for computers. We couldn’t think a computer without a network system in 21.century. HUB and switch are devices which are used in computer network area. We must use HUB or switch to connect all of the nodes in network system. Switch is better than HUB, because if you use switch at your network system, in the same time you can send and receive the data very quickly and confidently, all of machines can communicate without affecting each other and data is sent only to certain address.

If switch is used, at the same time you can send and receive the data very quickly and confidently. In other words you can be able to receive a data while you are sending a data. Switch test the data communication in network system. However you use HUB the condition is impossible because the nodes which are connected the same Hub use the same data bus [1, 2].

All of machines in your network system can communicate without affecting each other because switch divides the network to segments. In this way nodes use different data bus for communicate. All of network cards in the world have got special MAC address. The addresses are given the network cards by the producer companies. In the network system Switch recognize node’s MAC address. For this reason Switch know which data package is sent which nodes in the network [2, 3].

Moreover, the nodes which are connected to switch use different data bus, accordingly data transmission is supplied to pair to pair. In other words data is sent only to certain address. If you use switch in your network system, conflict between nodes in network is not allowed. Whereas the network system which is use HUB datas sending all of nodes. In this condition, data of traffic is very intensity and data transmission is very slowly [3].

If you have got the big network and you want the communication is very fast you must use switch but you have got small network for example 3-4 computers you could use HUB. You must select the communicate device (HUB-Switch) according to your network’s size. Because switches expensive than HUBs [2].
