PC & MACS

Computers are technological machines which are used in each place of our life. PC and Macs are only two of them. The PC computers are the most common computers used today because of their cheapness, useful and simple menus, useful word (writing program), useful operating systems, useful and standard hardware, and common programs.

The PC computers are cheaper than Mac (Apple) computers. The price list of Mac computers had given at www.apple.com/store web address. And I took a PC brochure of Queen Computer from a seller. A computer from Mac which model name is eMac is 799 $, and a PC which features equivalence to Mac is 583 $. A computer from Mac which model name is iBook is 1.499 $, and a PC notebook is 1.285 $. In the line, features of PC versions which price has given are better than Mac versions.

My aunt’s son has a Mac Computer. Because of my homework I visited him. I interested in Mac. And I asked price of it. It was very expensive. He said that only one mouse of it was 100 $. But a PC mouse which is optic and remote controlling is 30$. And this is the most expensive mouse for PC.

The PC computers’ Operating Systems have more useful and simple menus than Mac OS or OSX. One thing that will catch you out all the time is that on the Mac, Word adopts the Mac convention of having a Preferences command.  In OS X it's on the Application (Word) menu, in OS 9 it's on the Edit menu, again, following the OS convention.  On the PC, this is Tools>Options on the Tools menu.  It's the same thing; the tabs are exactly the same inside. Word on the Mac still has a Work menu you can put on your menu bar; this has been replaced by the Task Pane (which is nowhere near as convenient) in later versions of PC Word. [1] When I visit my aunt’s son, I used Mac computer. I have a PC computer. So I was coerced. Its desktop components are on right. Its programs are only for graphic. And I had not seen them until then. After visiting I thought Mac. It was very different system.

The PC computers’ Word (writing program) is more useful than Mac’s Word. The PC computers commonly have Microsoft Office program. But Mac has very different Word which compatible for Mac OS. Word on the Macintosh is basically Word for Windows re-compiled to run on the Mac. It's not just "compatible".  It's not just "like" Word for the PC.  It is Microsoft Word, the same one Microsoft makes for every platform. [2] On each platform, Word adopts the default appearance of the Operating System.  There is almost nothing that you see on the screen that is drawn by Word: on the Mac, the display is created by Mac OS; on the PC, by Windows.  It saves money and it saves vast amounts of disk space and processor power. The only difference you are likely to notice is that if you are in OS X, the window controls are on the opposite side to Windows. [1]

The PC platforms have more useful OS than Mac versions. For example you can install Windows 95/98/2000/XP/NT, Linux and Unix OS on PC. But you can’t install these OS on Macs, because of their special OS. They have only Mac OS. Windows 95/98 and Windows NT now offer many of the features which used to be unique to the Macintosh environment. [3] The true underlying differences between Mac OS, Windows 95/98 and Windows NT from a publisher’s point of view. [3]
The PC computers have more useful and standard hardware and more common programs than Mac computers. All over the Turkey, PC computers are being used. So you can find all parts of PC everywhere. But Mac isn’t like PC. For example there is not a Mac computer seller in Tarsus. You know, every month PC magazine gives one or two PC CD. And these CDs are for PC platforms. Especially it is for PC OS.

The PC computers are better than Macs. Many features of PC are more superior than Macs. But we haven’t to forget Macs superior features too. One of features of them is their GUI developed according to PC. So Macs are being used on printing house. But still you can use graphic programs on PC. In other words you can draw all of graphical works on PC programs. But still PC computers are the most common computers all over the world.
