a few minutes later, she entered, with a big big grin on her face.
"whats this all about?" Meggie asked her friend.
"shh, shh. and I'll tell you all about it." Katie sat down, on the edge of her bed and sighed.
"for the last three days, you know i've been kinda depressed. I didn't get tickets to the upcoming hanson concert as you well know, and I was majorly upset about it.
"you also know that the nearest store is five miles in the oppisite direction." she sighed, and stood up.
"mom is always wanting me to go to the little store and get her baby food. so, yesterday, like usual, I went. my sissy has this thing pears and carrots, so thats what i went to pick up. I walked to the little store, and walked over to the baby food aisleand found the pears, and the carrots. I turned around... and thats when I saw him. he was heading over to the soda, behind me. He grabbed two cokes, a pepsi, and a sprite.
as he turned around, he noticed someone staring at him. Me. He smiled, and walked over to me. then you know what he said?
"Hi. could you help with these real quick? their fricken freezing."
"I helped him take them over to the counter, then he pulled out a ten and payed the guy behind the counter. I forget his name. he looked at me, and smiled. then you know what he said?
"thanks. hey...I didn't catch your name."
'katie.' i whispered. i was too stunned to find my voice. I smiled at him and then turned to leave. but he called out my name. hearing him say it, was like... angels whispering above the trees. I turned around, and he smiled. His hand was in his pocket. then he pulled out two pieces of paper. 'here.' he shoved them at me, and smiled. "thanks again."
He left, and I heard the car leave. I looked down at the two pieces of paper he gave me. they were two front row tickets for the hanson concert tomorrow night.
I knew i had met my angel. I met him." I finally finished.
they all looked at her with a baffled face. "who was he?" one of her friends finally shouted in mock anger.
"I met him. I met Zac Hanson."
