This Time Around Tour 2000 |
Portland, Oregon. August 2nd, 2000. Crystal Ballroom. |
The day started early. We were kinda lost. On the one hand, we didn't want to wait, but on the other we didn't want to get in last. So, at 1:30 that fateful afternoon, my Mom, Dana and I piled into the car, and made our way to the Crystal Ballroom. No later then 2:00, we got out of the car, and tried to find the end of the line.we waited. We stood for hours in the glaring heat of the sun.(it just HAD to be 90 out that day.) We watched for the tour buses, and after a while, a red bus showed up and dropped Hanson off, in the front entrance. Stupid us, were in the back.(and no, we didn't make a run to the front either.) |

And still we waited. then a little girl who seemed to be to young for Zoe, but to old for Avery came up to the front tour bus window, and started waving at us. she was really cute. then she went back and got a sign that said: Hanson Rocks! Then, a girl who we assumed was Jessi, crawled out, and the zoe started hitting her on the head with the paper! It was so cute! While sitting there, and waiting, A woman came out who I decided was the babysitter(she was getting a fresh diaper)/taylors girlfriend(cynical side of me speaking. ignore it.), and their mom. She is really beautiful. the pictures on the net, are absoutly not even close of how she looked. she was much prettier. So, we spent hours, darting back and forth between the buses, and the shade of the other side of the street. the line was so long, we had to move across the street because there wasn't enough room the other direction. At six, yellow ticket holders went inside and met their fate. (getting the "bad" seats) At 6:30, the line scooted up conciderably, and by seven (yeah.. seven) we went up the five flights of stairs, and finally saw how much bigger the ballroom was. (it was much bigger then I thought concidering it only held 998 people) We bought a poster, those necklace thingys, and dana got a keychain. |

Then we went potty. Ya know...after three bottles of water, we deserved a potty break. *grin* On my necklace thingy, I put my ticket in there. My Ticket says specifially that the concert was to start at 7:30. but NO! they made us wait another half hour. no opening band. they just made us wait. (as if 5 hours wasn't enough. some people were camped out there at 2:30 in the morning.(THE DAY BEFORE THE CONCERT STARTED!) The people with the yellow tickets were in the front (it was general admission), and even before the concert started, they were all getting squished. They had to pull many people over the baracade so they wouldn't be squished to death.(no matter how happy I'd be at a hanson concert, I still wouldn't want to die there.) |

Taylor even made us back up. like.... 12 times. once, he even threatened to stop the concert.( I mean, he walked off the stage and stuff.) we screamed. I dunno... I thought it was funnie.*grin* |

I wish to explain what they were wearing. Isaac was wearing a grey button down shirt, with a white wifebeater underneath. (he likes water. he drank like four bottles while on stage) and jeans. he didn't sing a whole lot, but he was thoroughly enjoying himself. it was just that look in his eye, while watching this crowd go maniac, and his smile when he sang. Taylor, being the sexy hottie he is, wore a dark blue button down shirt, with brown cords. (note: his blue shirt awas disguarded toward the end of the concert, showing us his buff upperbody, in a black tank top. mmmm yum.) And Zac. He was wearing a black harely teeshirt and dark blue jeans. His hair was pulled back into a low pony, and yum. he was showing off a lot of the time... playing his drums with one hand. |

My most favorite moment was when he yelled, "you guys? if you throw water up on the stage, it'll get in the electric equitment, and then we'll get electrocuted!" everyone screamed in reply. he was like...'Ok. it means, NO MORE CONCERT!" we screamed even louder. I don't know if the look on his face was for real or not, but he really looked befuddled.(did you know, that when he talks, he doesn't say anything in a regular voice?) |

I'm not gonna tell you what I wore, except for my shoes. they were regular sandals. if you ever decide to go to a hanson concert, be sure to wear sneakers. Taylor makes you jump. I'll not tell you the downside of any of this.like the jumping, the screaming, the not-being-able-to-walk the next morning, the emtpiness feeling... (believe me, there was a lot, but it was all made up for.) The worst part of it all though, is going through withdrawl. if you went to a concert, you'll know what i'm talking about. you just want it to happen again and again. espeically if you know theres no hope of doing again, until next concert tour. Anyway,.... my mom came and picked us up, right around 10:15, and we went home. (i live in a apartment building, on the 3rd floor. blast my hide!) we walked up the dreaded four flights, and then flopped down on the couch. we went to bed, more exshuated then known to man. we fell asleep with smiles on our faces. it was deffiently worth it. |
