Free Graphing Software: MathGV
"We all use math everyday; to predict weather, to tell time, to handle money. [We also use math to analyze crime, reveal patterns, and predict behavior.] Math is more than formulas and equations; it's logic, it's rationality, it's using your mind to solve the biggest mysteries we know." --Charlie Eppes of CBS's NUMB3RS
Thanks to mathgv.com Wish you had a graphing calculator for your math homework (or wish you had a graphing calculator to play with the pretty graphs)? Can't afford the price of a TI graphing calculator? Well, you can download free graphing software off the internet. There are many different free graphing software programs that you can download, and MathGV is one of them. MathGV is good for ANY PVHS student, and is IDEAL for someone in Math Analyzes because it can graph 2 dimensional, parametric, polar, and 3 dimension functions. However, do note that MathGV is graphing software, not a full-blown TI graphing calculator. MathGV can't do matrices, graph histograms, work with complex numbers, or do statistics-related mathematics. (If you search hard enough on the internet, you might find one that can!) Form the MathGV web site, MathGV's functions include:
Examples of MathGV:
A 2 dimensional graph: showing two linear equations, a polynomial, and a sine curve. A 2 dimensional rotation: showing an exponential function rotated with respect to the Y-axis. A polar graph: showing a composite function of some trigonometric functions. A 3 dimensional graph: showing z = f(x,y) = sin(x)cos(y) MathGV works for Windows 95/98/ME, NT4, 2000 and XP. | |
