Defining Your Generation and Explaining Its Causes
and Effects
How do you define your
generation? How is your generation
defined by others? Is your generation
accurately depicted in the media (tv,
film, music, etc)? What are some of the causes behind these portrayals and/or
definitions? What are the effects of
these portrayals and/or definitions on your generation or on future
generations?
In a well-organized essay,
explore these questions concerning Generation Y (or X if that’s where you
fall). The essay must contain a minimum
of five paragraphs and should be written in MLA format.
You must use a minimum of
two outside sources. These sources
should be documented both on the works cited page and parenthetically
(in-text). Feel free to use citationmachine (www.citationmachine.net)
for help in this area. Your textbook
also contains guidelines here as does the Purdue Online Writing Lab (http://owl.english.purdue.edu).
