miss ng ...i get it ....i will hardwork in next year....thinkyou...are u know why the time will become fast when u older ??

Miss Ng 23/Aug/2002:10:43:39
Dear Leo,Welcome! Although I will not teach you in the next school year, I still hope you can work for the best. As you would like to continue study, I suppose, why don't you start now. You can still hand in the MC assignment to me and ask me question at any time! Please don't waste you time anymore and think about your future seriously as you have to face the tough reality very soon.

Miss Ng 23/Aug/2002:10:38:40
Dear Mabel,1. Hand in your MC vacation assignment before 06 Sept 2002.2. you know soft drink contains a lot of CO2. Usually the CO2 will escape very fast. But when the CO2 is trapped inside the thick, creamy ice cream, very stable gas bubbles will form which are less easily break. That's why it seems to have more bubbles when soft drink mixes with ice cream.3-5. I cannot read the question properly. Would you mind tranlate the question in English cause I suspect there may be some coding error during data transferring.

Dear Yaki someone,If you got 14 marks in HKCE. You can choose to study 6A providing that we've got places in 6A. You only need to study 2A-level subjects or 1AL + 2AS level subjects together with UE and Chi, than you can apply most of the courses in JUPAS.

Miss Ng 19/Aug/2002:22:21:56
Dear Matthew,If you want to be good at gymnasium. You got to train to loosen your tendon by repeating stretching exercise and also to train to increase the strength of your muscle to maintain posture. Usually, the earlier in your life to start such kind of training, the easier to be good at gymnasium.

Dear Thordia,Hi, how is your holiday? Are you busy doing your project?Glad to hear that you are interested in studying English in U. Basically they take students' AL results into account when they give students offer. the minimum requirement of English is 'D' in AL Use of English. This year, students generally did better in Cert. English. Two of our students got C. Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Miss Poon 08/Aug/2002:13:00:16

Miss Ng 04/Aug/2002:17:17:03
Hi Mabel,Sorry for late answering. I just come back to Hong Kong.1. The sperical shape of bubbles is the most stable form after calculating the surface tension of bubbles.2.When you are brushing with tooth paste, you introduce air into the tooth paste that encourage bubbles to form. Also there is some chemical (surfactants) which make the bubbles not easy to break. That's why you get more and more bubbles. Same thing happens when you are stirring some soap solution.

Miss Ng 04/Aug/2002:17:12:03

Dear Matthew,The effect of radiowave on human brain has been discussed last time.Normally, you will not get 2??after sun tanning. However you may get ¡ÂZ!B3¡¦3instead. From my experience, no matter what kind of sunscreen lotion you use, you cannot avoid the appearance of ¡ÂZ!B3¡¦3 after prolong sun-tanning. The patches will becomes lighter only after you stop sun-tanning after quite a long period of time.No one can help you except yourself! You have not come to the supplementary lesson. I wonder how much effort you have put on this subject.

Miss Ng 18/Jul/2002:21:12:32
Dear Mabel,The mucus from the nose should be transparent, normally. However, if you are sick like getting flu or some other bacterial infection. Your body will protect yourself by attacking the bacteria with white blood cell. Then you mucus from the nose (in fact from the whole respiratory track) will becomes yellow.

Dear Thordia,We use 'somehow' in two occasions.1. in some wayse.g. We have to improve my English sonehow. (using some ways)Somehow, we must find him today.(We must use some ways to find him.)2.For a reason that you don't knowe.g. Somehow, I don't feel I can't trust him. (I don't know why but I don't quite trust him.)

Dear Yaki,1. The weighting of the four papers is as follows:Paper I Writing - 26%Paper II Comprehension -&- Usage - 24%Paper III Integrated Skills - 32%Paper IV Oral - 18%As you can see, Paper III carries more mark in HKCEE.2. Regarding Oral Examination, I think you can get a pass as long as you are willing to say somehting relevant to the topic. You did quite well in the 3rd term examination, so I am confident that you can pass the exam.

Miss Poon 12/Jul/2002:13:52:52
Dear Matthew,The name 'Corea' was once used when the republic was formed. Now, it is more common to use 'Korea'. I've heard that they used 'Corea' in World Cup because they wanted their team to appear earlier. The order of teams' marching into the stadium was based on the aphabetical order of their names. 'No' can be followed by a singular noun, a plural noun or an countable noun. When you use a singular noun or an uncountable noun, you have to use a singlar verb. When you used a plural noun, you have to use a plural noun.e.g. No coffee is served in the party.(uncountable noun)No student comes back.(singular noun)No students come back.(plural noun)

Miss Ng 06/Jul/2002:08:55:56
dear matthew,a handsome but not troublesome student,weight-lifting is a sport, it will promote you muscle growth, espectially biceps and triceps, but with not inhibit you body height! By the way, you lift only 10 lbs! What is a portable radio, you mean you are using a earphone? Please explain more clearly. The argument of the effect of using mobile phones on human brain has not been settled yet. Some say the radiation are harmful and may cause brain cancer but others got the opposite point of view. They think the radiation generated when using mobile phone can stimulate brain activities and may increase memory power. Both parties have supporting experiment results from animals and human! That's why we have to equip ourselves with critical thinking and independent thinking. We got to analyse acccording to evidences by ourselves instead of just believing in what the other people said. Sometimes truth is not those the majority think of!

matthew 03/Jul/2002:18:45:46
dear miss NG,miss NG,thanks for your nice attention and also your plentiful reply.i find that i understand much more knowledge from your answer......however,i still have a series of questions.firstly,i have a habit to lift weight all the time, but just 10LB on each hands, then will it have a poor effect on my body height?yes....i still have one more question,i like to use a portable radio while i am on bus or go out......as the portable radio has to receive "electronic balls" ga ma.then will it stimulate the cells in our brain and just like the bad effects of a mobile phone?......sorry to bother you all the time ne..thanks.matthew tsang,a troublesome but not handsome student,3-7-02.

Miss Ng 02/Jul/2002:22:28:50
Dear Matthew,Due to transmission problem. The answer splitted into two parts. Here is the second part:talking about genetic factors. You could improve o a lesser extent by consuming nutrients such as Ca, P, Vit. D which promote bone growth supplement with a lot of exercise, such as `jumping a rope'One last resort is to do an operation on the bones of your legs such that you legs could be lengths and so do your body height. Of course you have to pay for both the money and the pain that you will suffer.

Dear Matthew,Although I am not major in Biology in University, I got an A(01) in AL Exam. Hope I can remember some of the Biology theory.First of all, it is believed that female hormone promote better skin condition and hair nature, i.e., the skin is smooth and hair is soft and silky.Male hormone promote stiffer hair and rougher skin. However, the nature of skin and hair also depends on genetic factor.Oops! Both male and female contain both male and female hormone of difference levels. The hormonal levels also various in different period of our lives. Say, for example, a pregnant woman will have a higher female hormone level.Let's come back to the discussion of a baby's hair and skin. I think its soft hair and smooth skin is just because their cells are very young and have not be aged to a level that the skin turns rough. Do you agree?Lastly, you body height. Please look at your parents, your grandparents, you may predict you final body height. Of course, I am talki

dear miss ng,this time i'm here to apologize for what i did here.as you said, being a policeman will have a lot of harder training.i have heard some of them already.however, what i feel unsatisfactory against the school's policy is that i don't want to be sweating in the morning.sice i am a common human too,i will sweat too.and after sweating,we usually have a nasty smell on our body.it is really unbearable.i think you will approve of this fact too.however, being a policeman,we have tough training for a much longer period,so that we can take a bath immediately after the training.yet, can all the students in the school dash to the changing room to enjoy a comfortable bath after such a stern morning assembly?ha.i don't think so..but anyway,i am sorry to abuse your website...i make sure i won't promote such meaningful action here any more.best wishes,matthew14-6-02.

Dear Thordia,'Elder' can ONLY be used when you refer to a member of a family.e.g My elder brother is studying at university. So, it is wrong to say 'My teacher is elder than me.'I will check the guestbook from time to time during the holiday but less as often as schooldays.

Miss Ng 12/Jun/2002:22:07:43
Dear Matthew,As a webmaster, I would like to inform you that you have misuse this notice board which is not supposed to allow you make massive persuasion of any kind. You can express your feeling, but not asking other to take action with you.By the way, I have another point of view for the morning assembly arrangement. As a healthy young man like you, can't you feel unbearable under the heat of the sun? If you can't go through such minute uncomfortable situation, how could you face so many adverse situation in your future life?According to my knowledge, say, if you want to be a policeman, you have to undergo tougher training, may be running under the heat of the sun for one or two hours. Or hiking in extremely cold weather. As a conculsion, every arrangement of school is for the sake of students, we hope that you can become a real tough young man, with all desirable characters and high AQ.

dear anyone comes here and having the same aim as me,nice to meet all of you first.today i am here to raise up a team which will fill in the "school information form "about the complaint of the mornign meeting.i believe that many of yous unsatisfy or even hate the meeting, under such a sunshine and such a hot weather...wow..so poor and cruel.as a result,i can't bear it any more, then i decided to fill in the school information form .....and aiming to complain this cruel behaviour.due to the fact that the power of one guy is extremely small and weak,.....i ask for the people owning the same purpose to take action eagerly. i hope that more people will join me..thanks....matthew ( a person organising a revolution.)7-6-02.

Dear Mo Ming Shi,4C is a split class with two teachers, so there are more places for them. I'm sorry about that.

Miss Poon 03/Jun/2002:12:26:29
Dear Thordia,You don't have to introduce yourselves before you start. You will not be assigned students A, B, C or D in the exam, so not any one student will be asked beforehand to guide the discussion. You can say 'Let's move along to another point' or 'Let's conclude' when it is appropriate time.

Hi Mable,Only part of your 10 questions could be answered, others need more information collecting.1. A blind guess, material ignites at their ignition point, some have higher ignition point than the others. There may be some chemicals added to the naphthalene (t) which lower its ignition point. When you blow the candle, the temperature around the wig will not drop so quick that it is still above the ignition point of the impure naphthalene, then the candle reignites again.2.I've got no idea.3.Please search from the internet.4. It's a matter of Physics, I've forgot the detail, but I remember than a very thin coating is coated on the glass such that only green light will be reflect but not others. It involved the theory of refraction, dispersion of light. Would you please ask Mr. Cho for detail?5. Colour of hair related to the pigment on the hair or the pigmnet producing cells. Even more stable than S2 which does not exist in sulphur.5. In the presence of oxidising agent, Fe will be oxidised to its most highest oS, ie.Fe(III).For copper, most of the time Cu ----- Cu2+, only in very very special occasions, Cu(I) compound will form. e.g. formation of insoluble Cu(I) salt or Cu(I) complex.6. Can you tell me the structure of DCPIP, see whether I can explain the colour change by observing the structure.

Miss Ng 12/May/2002:21:33:05
Dear Chakston,1.Refer to Answer to Yaki,2. Many chemical reagents does not possess one property only, for example HNO3 is an acid, because it can ionize to produce H+. On the other hand HNO3 is also an oxidising agent when concentrate, because it gain electrons readily producing NO or NO2.No matter HNO3 acts as acid or OA, it become more stable after reaction. That's why some reaction happens under certain condition. Why it is stable after reaction, this is quite a complicated matter which you may learn in F6 Chemistry.3. If nobody on Earth can explain the reaction, I think it can be regard as special case. However, most reaction can be explained but beyond your understanding only.4. Both H+(aq) (hydronium ion) and H- (hydride ion) exist.

Hi Yaki,Not all metal reacts with dilute acids. Copper and metals below copper in the ECS will not reacts with dilute acids cause they are not reducing enough to reduce H+ from dilute acid to H2(g)HNO3 acid is another matter. Dilute HNO3 and conc. HNO3 apart from being an acid, they are also oxidising agent, they oxidise most metal, including less reaction metal such as copper and silver through the following half equations.dilute HNO3:NO3- + 4H+ + 3e- ----- NO + 2H2Oconc. HNO3:NO3- + 2H+ + e- ----- NO2 + H2OThe product gas is NO and NO2 respectively, instead of H2.

Hi Amy,NaOH is a strong alkali while NH3 is a weak alkali, ie, NaOH 100% ionise in water to produce Na+ -&- OH- while NH3 only partly, say 10% ionise in water to produce NH4+ and OH-.100% ioniseNaOH(aq) ----- Na+(aq) + OH-(aq)10% ioniseNH3(aq0 + H2O(l) ----- NH4+(aq) + OH-(aq)For the same concentration of NaOH and NH3 solution, NaOH(aq) will contain more OH-, therefore, NaOH will have a higher pH.

Hi, tung lam,We are warm blooded animals, we can maintain out body temperature around 37oC by oxidation of food in our body cell, producing energy, including heat. After death, our cells die and they no longer undergo food oxidation, therefore, no heat produced. That why the corps got atmospheric temperature which is colder than 37oC.

Hi Kathy,I'm so happy that you've already got your mission. Go for it! But right now, please concentrate in HKCE. Getting all pass is not enough, you should at least get, say, 4'C'and 2'E'/2'D' in order to secure a place in 6B.

Miss Ng 23/Apr/2002:23:23:29
Hi Man Yee,Don't worry, everything has passed. The error in Chemistry Paper II is no big deal as long as you use the equation of acid buffer and base buffer to calculate the answer will be correct anyway. And Man Yee, you deserve to relax and release after the two years of hard work. Open yourself and go out to play for some time. Or maybe learn something new to you. This will broaden you view.

Miss Ng 23/Apr/2002:23:19:02
Hi Mabel,Did you notice that lemon tea turns pale yellow after you squash the lemon? Like other acid-base indicator, tea contains a kind of dye that change colour in different pH.Limus is also a dye which have different structure in acidic and alkaline condition. Of course the structures got different colours.AS we found out in the last labotory session, the lime water prepared long time ago cannot work! In fact I'we got no idea of that. Maybe, thoguh I'm not sure, there is some acidic impurities in the lime water and thus milky CaCO3 cannot form after bubbling CO2 into the lime water. Because Mr Tsui told me that he had used some acid to wash the reagent bottle that hold the lime water.

Miss Ng 23/Apr/2002:23:08:41
Hi FatLam,Please try to work harder, as you are not hard working enough. Can you imagine some students in other school can work up to 5 to 6 hours a day on homework and revision? And please come to the homework assistance class after school. Look thorougly the subjects and found out 'your problems' and ask the tutors and teachers.Time is limited, and you've got only one chance. If you missed it, you even cannot get a chance of repeat in F.5 after HKCE in 2003.

Miss Ng 23/Apr/2002:23:00:37
Hi Thordia,¿Ã¥ú´Îªº°ÝÃD¿ð¨Ç¸Ñµª¡CBasically, if you got around 45 marks in most of the subjects, you can get an 'E'.It's hard to tell how much score you'll get in HKCE. As you know we are only covering less than half the syllabus. But I think I can guess your score in later stage of F.5.In our school, there is two streams in 6B, one of them is Maths stream, the subjects include Pure maths + Applied maths + Physcis. Or you can choose Pure maths + Chemistry + Physics.Another stream is biology, the subjects include Biology + Chemistry + Physics or Bioloty + Chemistry + Math -&- Stat + Computer Applications.Thank you for your mother's compliments.

Hi, Ms Ng.May I ask you some questions?1.Why does litmus paper change colour after touching acid/alkali?2.Why lime water has "expectation day"? And why we cannot use the lime water when it is after the "expectation day"?Thanks!
