I had a wonderful Christmas.  I got a bicycle from Santa, and more Batman Toys.  Some of them were from the new series.  Batman Beyond.   They look cool.  And I got to ride my new bike 3 times before I got sick again.

On January 3, me, my mom and Cory came back from a visit to my Grandma and Grandpa
Crawford's, and I did not feel well.  I took a nap when we got home and woke up with a funny looking rash on my arm.  I showed it to my mom and told her that I did not think that I could go to school, because of the rash.  She told me that either my plateletes were low or we might be in trouble with the Leukemia coming back.
When I got up the next morning, I reall did not want anything to eat, but my mom insisted and then took me to the doctor.  Dr. Baranko did a blood test, and said that my plateletes were very low and he wanted to do another special test on me to see if my bone marrow was okay.  I got some sleeping medicine, and fell asleep.  When I woke up, my mom took me to the hospital.  The leukemia had been hiding in my body and was showing up again in my bone marrow.

I was scared, and I asked my mom if I was going to die.  She told me that she hoped not, but there was always the possibility that I would become a beautiful Angel.  I told her it was okay and I would try the medicine again.

The doctor said that I needed a bone marrow transplant, and maybe one of my brothers could help me.  It would mean lots more yucky medicine, and a new Broviac Catheter.  I had that put in on January 5th.

I had a very hard time  with having to have the catheter surgery and two sinus surgeries.  But there was a fungus growing in my nose, that we could not see from the outside.  One night my left lung collapsed. I had to have a chest tube put into my body.  I had to keep that in from Friday until that next Tuesday.   Then I was okay again.  I was happy to get rid of that, it was always in my way.

By the second surgery, I had began to develop mouth sores.  Then it was harder for me to breathe.
My nose was plugged up and I had to breathe from my mouth. My throat was always very dry.  I was not able to breathe very well.  I had a cough and pretty soon everything I tried to swallow would just not go down.

I went into Intensive Care on Thursdsy morning, the 28th.  My Dad  stayed with me all the time, by then my mom was real scared and the doctors would not let her stay with me for a long time anymore.  My mom, friends and relatives all came to see me, but the doctors gave me sleepy medicine, because I did not feel well.  I was on a ventilator.  It was helping me breathe.   It was not very comfortable.  I stayed on the ventilator until February 5, 1999, and at 7:46 pm  my Mom, Dad, Aunt and Uncle and Friends were with me when I became a Beautiful Angel.

My Mom and Dad made a promise to me that I would never be left alone.  I was not alone, I had my Angel that came and helped me along my way to heaven.  I have been seeing my Angel since I was 4 years old.  She always read Bible stories and told me of the great adventures in heaven.

I am not afraid.  Please don't be sad for me.  I am happy.  I am with God and Jesus in Heaven.
Please celebrate my Great new birth as an Angel in Heaven.  When you think of me in your heart, I will be there.  When you cry, just remember it is God's way of cleaning your heart so it doesn't hurt so much.

Thank you for being my family and friends.
Love
Brian
