A Special Dog

You had to go and do it,
worm your way into my heart,
Even though you knew.
one day that we would part.
You had to be silly,
all the trouble youd get in.
Id try to show my disapproval,
while holding back a grin.
You had to be so sweet and loving,
in oh so many ways.
You filled our house with laughter,
every blessed day.
You had to be so loyal,
your heart to us so true.
How are we to make it,
now that theres no you?
But look around,
And theres your favorite chair.
I must have at least 100 pictures,
of you sleeping there.
Theres your favorite blankie,
all your toys and things.
Will we ever know again,
The joy a bullie brings?
There will never be another you,
no other could take your place.
But will we see your love and giving,
in another bullies face?
I cant keep my heart from breaking,
Now youve gone away.
But in my heart, it helps to know,
Well meet again one day.
For all dogs go to heaven,
and their humans, too.
And then well be together,
eternally, me and you.
When your lifes touched by a spirit,
Its like the hand of God.
Surely, you were heaven sent,
my special gift, my dog.
