The story:
I didn't finished this series because I had to go home from vacation, but now 16-9-2002
I've finished the series on tapes so here is a new review.
Ru Ping and Yi Ping are sisters they have the same father but not the same mother,
well Yi Ping and her mum were kicked out of the house and now they are very poor.
Shu Huan and Du Fei are reporters, Du Fei has a crush on his friend Ru Ping but she likes Shu Shuan.
Du Fei and Shu Huan met Yi Ping they became friends and when they saw her performing Shu Huan fell
in love with her.
From that day on he tried to chase her but Ru Ping also likes him very complicated but Shu Huan
chooses Yi Ping what made Ru Ping quite angry.
Du Fei sees a good chance to show Ru Ping his feelings for her, then there are also Fang Yu and Er Hao
their best friends.
Well I think this is the storyline a bit.
Best performance:
Well hands up for the one and only Alec! He was the only reason why I kept on watching this series, the others were also okay but not that good, Vicki was good at some times.
But Alec was definetely the best, he was funny and not only that his acting was the best he really
amazed me, great actor! Adorable, cute, wow!
Worst performance:
The worst performance is Vicki's mother, oh my... is Qiong Yao blind or something? This old lady cannot act! maybe she's a good singer who knows but her acting (if you can call it that!) really irritated me.
Best scene:
I like the scene when Yi Ping and Du Fei first met each other, she was mad and opened
the door and he fell in that was really cute and Du Fei's eyes twinkled and quickly introduced himself.
Alec and Vicki were good in this scene!
I also loved the scene when Er Hao came back from the war, he hugged with everyone well that was
very good and I also liked the wedding scenes between Ru Ping and Du Fei especially when a old couple
gave them their rings, very good!
Ehm... also the part when they had this goodbye party for Du Fei... that was sweet!
Worst scene:
Oh boy, I hate those long, boring, dragging scenes but I also don't like the romantic scenes between Leo and Vicki because they are not romantic at all it looks so fake, there is no chemistry, they do kiss and blah, blah but there is no thunder-strike! Watching them is like watching a young girl who was forced to kiss a old guy.
Alec and Ruby do have some chemistry but not for lovers, and also the scene with Meng Ping when she got raped, I hated Yi Ping!
And haha the ending scene haha, I laughed sooooooooooo hard not because I thought that it was good or funny, it was just plain stupid, oh... let's kiss while everyone is looking, I mean come on, the guy just arrived and he is not that handsome is he?! and that was the ending?! Well the rating of the series just dropped 10 points!
Themesongs:
There are two cd's but I like Leo Ku's 'Hao Xiang Hao Xiang' and Vicki's 'Qing shen shen yu meng meng' the most, the songs are all in old style very good but why oh why? Why didn't Ruby or Alec sang a song? They are good singers! Especially Alec I love his voice!
The I-don't-get-it part:
Why does everyone likes Shu Huan, is he that nice, is he that handsome? Talking about Shu Huan who does he think he is Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee or maybe Jet Li? Well I did laughed about the fighting scenes, what did Qiong Yao wanted? He is not a gentle guy, he wants to fight!
Then about Yi Ping, come on Meng Ping is right she did stole Shu Huan to take revenge on the Lu's!
And well Yi Ping says that everyone is so mean to her, well what about herself? she says that she wants peace but she is selfish and she always quarreled when she had the chance! I don't get that part... also about Du Fei, fine you can say that he is deeply in love with Ru Ping but a guy is NOT that stupid to stuck with her after she rejected him 10 times!
And then Rebecca Wang Yan... gosh she is such a good actress! and she appeard in this series and she immediately dissapeard again! I want more Wang Yan! Ru Ping, aiya Ru Ping, I really wished that I could help her, she needed to stand up and fight for her love!
Cute guys?:
Yeah definetely Alec especially when he took his glasses off, oh yeah he looked great and also
Er Hao he has this boyish yet mature look quite handsome.
Alec was cute in all his outfits!
What if I was the writer?:
Well first of all I would do something about Yi Ping does she has to be nice or mean?
And then about Shu Huan, ok some fighting scenes are good but sometimes he really thinks that he is Jackie Chan! Du Fei is cute but there are too many scenes of Du Fei when he is behaving crazy, Ru Ping, poor Ru Ping I would definetely do something about her character, she shouldn't let her sister win Shu Huan she has to fight and let Shu Huan pair up with Ru Ping.
Well who did Shu Huan love? Yi Ping or Ru Ping? My answer is Ru Ping because he liked her since the beginning and he did not forget her when he was dating Yi Ping.
Oh...please cut out the scenes of Meng Ping being pregnant that was so frustrating! Oh yeah also cut out those scenes when Yi Ping is pretending to be nice they are quite irritating.
Everything together:
Okay I was dissapointed because I thought wow Ruby, Vicki and Alec and also a Qiong Yao production
that would be good, that would be awesome.
But no I was dissapointed well at first as a Alec and Vicki fan I was dissapointed that they weren't
a couple but still they were quite cute together in this series although they were just friends.
I also don't like the cast , the story well "Qing shen shen Yu meng meng" uhmm where is the "Qing"?
Vicki is not really suitable for the role of Yi Ping because Yi Ping is too mean, but you will love Ruby in this series, really I loved her so much in this series, she was the best!
The costumes were beautiful especially Meng Ping's and Ru Ping's but I don't like Yi Ping's clothes or make-up they don't suit her.
It was too dragging and some scenes are just boring and so long, oh yes remember everyone this is just my opinion, if I made you angry with anything I apologise, this is just my review....
Should I rent it?:
If you like Qiong Yao stories you should rent it.
