The story:
The gentle and sweet Ling Wen and the selfish, sloppy Chor Chor are good friends since young, both have
something with their faces, Ling Wen has pimples all over her face and Chor Chor has a big red spot on her
face. Chor Chor was always jealous at Ling Wen because she had a very nice dad and she didn't, Chor Chor
was a bit angry when she notices that Ling Wen's pimples were fake.
A guy well he is the emperor meets Ling Wen and he wants to marry her, Chor Chor is jealous and then
she meets this weird guy Siu Tow he can change people's faces he also changed Chor Chor
(Mariane Chan in Charmaine Sheh for a while, which was very funny!).
Well Chor Chor told him that she wanted Ling Wen's face and Siu Tow helped her at that moment Mariane
plays Ling Wen and Anne plays Chor Chor.
Ling Wen is very confused of course and people were also after her now because Chor Chor had killed
someone, luckily she meets this nice guy Fong Lok Yen, well he wasn't that nice but he did helped her and
later they became good friends.
The evil Chor Chor became a concubine and she enjoys her life very much till Siu Tow comes again, he wants
her help and Chor Chor promised him to help him.
Ling Wen told Fong Lok Yen about the Chor Chor and the emperor and he wants to help her, after a while
Ling Wen's dad finally believed her and Ling Wen also became a concubine.
Chor Chor was angry because she had to die now but the emperor's uncle saved her and told her to obey
him, she had to turn into a totally different person now she was the gentle Si Si.
Ling Wen left the palace for a while to fight in a war and Si Si and the emperor met each other and
the emperor again fell in love with Chor Chor or should I say Ling Wen's face.
Well Chor Chor again became a concubine but now she had to obey the uncle and Siu Tow, Ling Wen also
came back and both were pregnant.
And two baby boys were born but Chor Chor was afraid, her baby was so dark while Ling Wen's baby was so
beautiful and she asked Siu Tow to help her again and he switched the baby's.
The emperor was angry and he let people kill Ling Wen, well she is not out of the picture a goddes gave
her 18 years to live to raise Chor Chor's child Dan Yi.
Well that isn't easy, Ling Wen has to work for her money and she also has to take care of this little
mean boy who was just as mean as his real mother, luckily he turned well after Ling Wen suffered 50 hits
for him, Ling Wen's real son Hei Yi was enjoying his life in the palace with Chor Chor she hated to see Hei Yi's
happy face and she turned him into a mean little boy.
Later they were all grown up and Ling Wen and the older Dan Yi went to Beijing again for Dan Yi's studies
and there she met Fong Lok Yen and her dad again he also met her own son who was very evil now.
As expected the emperor saw her too and he was begging her for her forgiviness, Ling Wen agreed and
Fong Lok Yen wasn't happy with that because he always liked Ling Wen.
Hei Yi was a evil guy and Ling Wen wanted to take care of him. The emperor loves Dan Yi more than Hei
Yi and Chor Chor told Dan Yi that he was her own son which was the
truth, she and Siu Tow were also having a affair together they also wanted to kill the emperor and they
already killed the uncle who was also mean.
Anyway Dan Yi saw that Chor Chor was evil and so did the emperor so he wanted to kill her and Siu Tow
was already dead.
Dan Yi who was always a sweet guy begged the emperor to let Chor Chor live, the emperor did not listen
and Dan Yi took her away with him but Chor Chor was a bit crazy and she fell of a cliff.
Well everyone is happy in the palace and then the goddes came again telling Ling Wen that these 18 years
were over but she also said that she wanted to give Ling Wen a chance to be happy and so she made Ling Wen
pretty her red spot on her face was gone.
Fong Lok Yen laughed and said "good people will have good endings" and at that point everyone nodded and
everyone including the soldiers, both of the sons well almost everyone except for Chor Chor turned their
faces to the camera yelling "good people will have good endings", indeed a good ending.
Best performance:
Ok, Ok hands up for the one and only Mariane Chan! She was great in this series and I have to say that
she is really one of the best actresses of the Chinese movie world.
Her switch of Chor Chor into Ling Wen was great, great job! And I also admire her that she wanted to
act like a ugly girl all through the series we need more actors like her and Mak Bau was also great.
Charmaine Sheh was also good in her little role as Chor Chor very funny! I did hoped that she would come
back again but she didn't.
Worst performance:
Well this is my first series with Anne Heung in it and I was quite surprised, she did acted good at
times especially the evil parts but when she had to play the nice one again I didn't thought that it was
that convincing.
Anyway Anne did a good job and sometimes I really wanted to slap her because she was so mean, well that
is a compliment on Anne's acting.
Best scene:
Well my favourite scenes are with Mak Bau and Mariane Chan, I liked their chemistry together and I
was dissapointed that they didn't end up together.
There was a scene that I really liked, Ling Wen and Fong Lok Yen were in the palace and a maid said
"No Bei...." which means "I the maid" and he thought that she was called No Bei so he called her No Bei all
the time and she was so irritated, very funny!
Worst scene:
Those scenes with the emperor and Si Si or Chor Chor while Ling Wen was in the war fighting, how could
the emperor be so stupid to fall for Chor Chor again? I've called him stupid all the time watching those
scenes.
Themesongs:
It is a very nice song sung by Stephanie Che, I think that her voice looks like Miriam Yeung's a
nice song very beautiful.
The I-don't-get-it part:
About Hei Yi well did he or didn't he know that Ling Wen was his real mother? And then about Siu
Tow how did he became so mean? Marco's evil laugh is quite funny!
Cute guys?:
Of course Mak Bau, such a cute role and such a nice man and also Dan Yi and also Hei Yi both
were also cute especially in their prince costumes.
Everything together:
A good series but when you are frustrated I suggest you not to watch it because it gets you even more
frustrated then I mean the Chor Chor parts.
The cast is good especially Mariane Chan and Mak Bau and Anne Heung left me a good expression I would
like to see more of her and the little boy who played Dan Yi was also good for his age, the costumes were
also very beautiful especially Anne's clothes.
Anyway a great series, worth to watch!
