This video is featured exclusively on Susan Loone's blog at www.sloone.wordpress.com. This is Malaysia's murder of the century. Altantuya, a Mongolian national, single mother of two sons, was allegedly shot twice in the head and blown up with C4 explosives on 19 October 2006. She was allegedly murdered by two special task force policemen, abetted by political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, close associate of Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak. Except for her family and friends, Malaysians do not know how Altantuya look like, or who she is. This video was produced by her father Mr. Stev Shariibuu, in memory of his loving daughter. May her soul rest in peace. May justice prevail for Altantuya and her family. Shaariibuugiin Altantuyaa (Mongolian language: Шаарийбуугийн Алтантуяа; sometimes also Altantuya Shaariibuu; 1978 – 2006), a Mongolian national, was a murder victim whose remains were destroyed with C-4 in October 2006 in city of Shah Alam, Malaysia. Early lifeAltantuyaa was born in 1978. Her parents raised her and her sister while they worked in Russia where Altantuyaa started first grade elementary school. She was reportedly fluent in Mongolian, Russian, Chinese and English. Altantuyaa moved back to Mongolia in 1990 and a few years later, married a Mongolian techno singer, Maadai. They had a child in 1996 but the marriage ended in divorce and the child went to live with Altantuyaa's parents. Despite training as a teacher, Altantuyaa briefly moved to France where she attended modeling school before returning to Mongolia. She only modeled part-time, also opening a tour business in Mongolia, although it did not do very well. Altantuyaa remarried and had another child in 2003 but the second marriage also ended in divorce. The second child also lives with Altantuyaa's parents. Her mother said she never been a model. MurderShe moved to Hong Kong in 2005 and opened another business. It was around this time she met Abdul Razak Baginda, a defense analyst from the think tank Malaysian Strategic Research Centre and had a relationship with him. After arriving in Kuala Lumpur with her cousin and a friend in October 2006 to revive her relationship with Baginda or alternatively to blackmail him. She went to his house, but was kidnapped and taken away. The police investigation revealed that she was shot twice and blown up with C-4 explosives. When her body was found it could only be identified with DNA testing of the bone fragments. Baginda and three members of the police force were arrested during the murder investigation. Two of the other murder suspects have been named as Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri, 30 and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar, 35. They were members of the elite Unit Tindakan Khas (the Malaysian Police Special Forces Unit) and were both assigned to the office of the Deputy Prime Minister who is also the Defence Minister at the time of the alleged murder. The veracity of the relationship (affairs admitted by Baginda in Court) and the exact details of the murder are still under investigation. Due to the use of C4 explosives (very rarely used in murder body disposals in Malaysia and probably elsewhere throughout the world), the fact that the suspected murderers are policemen and Baginda's career linked to possible ties with defense contracts all make for fertile ground for conspiracy speculations. Murder case trialThe trial of this case was originally going to be held in March 2008. The trial was forwarded to 4th June 2007. But due to controversial changes in the prosecution and defence teams, and also the presiding judge, the trial has been postponed to 18 June 2007. Lawyer Karpal Singh is holding a watching brief for Altantuyaa's family.
