11/07/02: I caved and got myself a livejournal! I will try to integrate my sites because I love the babypillow and will never give her up. What a conundrum! Anyway, here is my livejournal.

11/06/02: I want a livejournal. I prefer my current format, but all my friends are on livejournal and they can't link to my stuff and do all the cool livejournal connected/linked/we're-all-friends-so-let's-leave-comments-on-each-other's-pages kind of stuff. waah . . .

11/05/02: My brother probably already wrote about this, but it was so much fun and I have to tell my version of it all. The fam and I went to Cali for a reunion/halloween/lolo's b-day party. The family stuff was cool although there were too many people that I just don't know at the Saturday event. Also, relatives can be cruel. Check out this conversation:

I'm so glad I live far enough away to not see everyone everyday, but near enough to make it to the special events. Plus, you tend to miss people and actually want to hang out with them.

Anyway, I chilled out with my first cousins in one of the rooms until it was 21 and over time. Chilai, Mia, Russ, and me headed out with our non-cousin friend, Cliff, and hit the clubs/lounges in San Francisco. That was fun. We hooked up with one of Mia's other friends who either got us in free or straight to the front of the line or both. I wonder how people pull that off? I mean, does she go out so much that people know her? Or is she connected to someone that owns these places? In any case, I felt special (haha).

Too bad we didn't get to hang out for at least another full day. But I'm sure we'll plan something soon.

Oh, we did have another family thing on Sunday morning. That was just the first cousins and people I knew. That was more fun and relaxed. One of my aunties even did predictions for the youngest generation. She has like a sixth sense or something. Then we decided we (my generation + tita carol) should all Italy. So now we're trying to get something together. Although I doubt it will happen before 2003 because most of the cousins are under 18 AND don't have jobs. But you never know.

That's about it. Oh, I ended up wearing the cat ears w/out the wig to work if anybody cares and I got a compliment from a cute mailguy

10/27/02:

Wig or Wigout?
Should I go with or without the wig?

Wear it baby!
Go natural girl!
There are more important things to worry about.

10/25/02: Begging for a drive-by.

10/23/02: I got my gamecube! I'm so addicted to animal crossing!

10/20/02: I'm so bored!

. . . at least my apartment is clean and I got more stuff to sell on eBay.

10/12/02: Today was a Triple A day.

Azalea picked me up this morning, just in time to avoid Husky game traffic. I managed to stay within my budget while at the mall and got a few Christmas gifts. Then we headed over to Armin's house for some video games and anime.

The anime was pretty funny, but his cousins were funnier. They got bad with the nasty jokes at times, but they're basically good kids. And as an added bonus, Armin's mom cooked for us. So I made sure to get something good since I didn't know when my next good meal would come along (Mom, I promise I'll come home soon.)

Azalea, Armin, and Anime. It was nice spending a whole day outside the house.

10/05/02: First day off in 3 weeks! I'm rested and my apartment is soooo clean. Well, as clean as it's gonna get while there's furniture in it.

After this short break, I'm taking a shower. I'm covered in dust bunnies . . . eeeew. Who would've thought a bunny could be so gross?

Does anybody even care?

10/02/02: E-mail I got this morning: I went out last night and saw Freddie!!! My life is complete; I can die a happy woman now! Ellaine

As for me? I have a date tonight with my womyn Azalyn. w00t!

09/27/02: I am so freaking tired.

09/26/02: I love FrUITS!

I want to be one. I wonder how far I can go at work . . .

09/24/02: I'm feeling much better now :)

09/21/02: Okay. I'm a little bit more than a little bit stressed. I feel cranky, depressed, worried, stressed out. I'm not myself and I hate it. I don't normally dwell on worries, but I can't seem to shake my blues. I guess it's just a combination of things. Juan left a few weeks ago. The pace has seriously picked up at work in addition to some fairly big changes. And it seems as though someone wants something from me at every turn. I'm being pulled apart.

I know I'll just have to ride it out, but I can't wait to make it out of the fog. I just hate being in a funk like this. I hate feeling sick at the thought of work. It's just the way things are right now, and I go through these phases. I know it's normal and it will pass, but it still sucks.

At least I have Juan to help me cope. He let's me whine and cry as much as I need to. But he also reminds me to suck it up when I get unbearable. The only thing lamentable about "us" is that we live so far apart. *sigh*

I try to remember the things I look forward to. One thing I can't wait for is October. First of all, fall check-in will be over. Second, Halloween is coming up. I love Halloween. It's so much fun and I'm looking for something fun to wear at work. I kinda want to do the whole gothic lolita look, but I might save that for a party (or anime convention?)

Another thing to look forward to is my family's reunion/halloween gathering the weekend of November first. My parent's, bro, and I will be jetting to California for the weekend. It'll be nice to see my cousins, though I dread the though of my aunts and uncles commenting on how un-thin I am. As if I am unaware of my own body . . . oh my god, you mean I'm not a size 2?!?! But if that's the worse, then it ain't all that bad. They're especially great when it comes to parties. And as a bonus, they live far away, so it's always happy time when I see them.

After October comes November, which means two extended weekends! I knew there was another reason I loved the fall season. I have my ticket to Los Angeles for Thanksgiving.

Then a month after that is the winter holiday. Christmas with Juan! Hurray! The plan after that is two weeks in the Philippines in February. But I still have to wait for my plane ticket.

Then my *gasp* 25th birthday in March. It's really not a big deal. Just another year.

With April comes SakuraCon, which I will be attending with some friends :)

I suppose that's the plan for now. So many things to look forward to and I'm happy about that. But I still feel like $#!% inside.

09/03/02: Juan is gone. Boohoo. He left on the 26th. Now I'm sad. I miss him a lot.

I love bubble tea! It's tasty! It's fun! It's got tapioca! Oh and it's a little bit dangerous, so be careful when you're trying to get that last ball out of your drink. I sucked on the straw a little too hard and the tapioca shot me in the throat. I almost choked, but I didn't (hehe). I also learned that the shake may cost a little more, but lasts way longer than the milk tea.

I also love Chappie! I you can find Chappie merchandise anywhere, please let me know! Specifically, I'm looking for Chappie trading cards. I can't get enough!

I also still love Juan *grin*

08/24/02: "How many Dick's do you guys have?" is the question my sugarbear asked me when we passed by our 3rd Dick's Drive-In.

08/19/02: Well, my sugarbear has been in town since the 7th, so I'm a happy camper. I've been working, but it's nice to have normal dates again. We went to Victoria, BC the first weekend he was here. Then this last Saturday, we went to the Fun Center in Tukwila with my cousins Ellaine, Annalle, Addison and their friend Susan. The Go-Carts and Bumper Boats were fun. We soaked and got soaked by some random kids we didn't know. Juan and Annalle hit a few balls in the batting cages. I tried a round, but it hurt my hands the few times I made contact with the ball. I'm such a wimp ^^'

After the Fun Center, Ellaine showed me the Great Wall Mall near Ikea in Tukwila. It was a cutesie place. I wanted to buy some rice bowls, but I don't have much space left in my apartment. So I'll hold off on that purchase until I'm on my own. (in a bigger apartment? - I hope.) We separated at the mall because Ellaine had to pick up a cake or something.

On our way back home, I took a wrong turn. But it was fortunate because we ended up at Kent Bowl and decided to drop in. I think we played three games. Juan beat me all three times. Although, I was so close to winning the last game. On the 9th frame, Juan had 97 and I had 102. Then on the 10th frame, Juan got three strikes! There was no hope for me after that. Oh, the humanity! But it was fun anyway :)

Oh, and the Friday before that, Juan and I went to a friend's housewarming. A bunch of us from work were there. It was nice to hang out, but we had to leave early. I promised a cousin that I would take her out. So, we watched Signs and stayed up late. That was a good movie. We were creeped out the whole time, but couldn't help but laughing at ourselves. It was nice catching up and I can see Juan getting comfortable with my friends.

Let's see . . . what else have I been up to? Juan and I saw Margaret Cho's new movie/comic routine "Notorious C.H.O. She's hillarious! The one before it (I'm the One That I want) was funny too, but I like this one better. We also rented Zoolander, which reminds us of one of his brothers. And yesterday, we watched MIB 2. I wasn't expecting much out of it, but I got some good giggles from it . . . oh the same goes for Goldmember. I guess we've been watching a lot of movies. OOH and I took him to a Mariner's game last Wednesday (versus the Redsox). We lost, but it was nice to sit in the sun and watch a game.

I think that's all Juan and I have been doing since he got here *big grin*

08/02/02: Interesting Memo . . .

Re: Replacement of Mouse Balls.

If a mouse fails to operate or should it perform erratically, it may need a ball replacement. Mouse balls are now available as FRU (Field Replacement Units).

Because of the delicate nature of this procedure, replacement of mouse balls hould only be attempted by properly trained personnel. Before proceeding, determine the type of mouse balls by examining the underside of the mouse. Domestic balls will be larger and harder the foreign balls.

Ball removal procedures differ depending upon the manfacturer of the mouse. Foreign balls can be replace using the pop off method. Domestic balls are replaced by using the twist off method. Mouse balls are not usuallly static sensitive. However, excessive handling can result in sudden discharge.

Upon completion of ball replacement, the mouse may be used immediately. It is recommended that each person have a spare pair of balls for maintaining optimum customer satisfaction.

Any customer missing his balls should contact the local personnel in charge of removing and replacing these neccessary items. Please keep in mind that a customer without properly working balls is an unhappy customer.

07/29/02: I wanted to go over my resume and stuff this weekend, but I ended up visiting my cousin in Spokane. Road Trip! It was nice, but tiring. I slept like a baby last night.

My interview for the Desk Supervisor position is this Thursday. I'm so nervous. I've been brushing up on interview techniques and tips to try to calm myself down.

Oh, and I'm a little annoyed at my dentist's office right now. I went in for what I thought was a cleaning. During the appointment, they took some x-rays then poked at my gums with a pointy metal thing. After that, the dentist says, "Yeah, you should come in for a cleaning." I thought, "Isn't that what I'm here for?" In any case, I need to call them for a cleaning appointment.

In other news, my Juan and only will be coming up for two weeks. Yahoo! I wish I could take the entire two weeks off, but I'm saving up my vacation time for my trip to the Philippines.

07/23/02: It's too hot to go outside, so I've been selling stuff on e-Bay.

07/15/02: I've been busy . . .

07/01/02: Let's see. . . .
06/28/02: So that pink hair is obviously a wig, but I'm actually getting my hair dyed tomorrow. No idea what the color will be yet, but I'm excited about it. I'm also thrilled about getting some time off. I'm taking a sick day for some medical appointments on Monday, which is really no big deal since I still have to wake up early. The exciting thing is that I get the 4th and 5th of July off. Wednesday night, I will be flying to L.A. to see my poor, but oh-so-cute honeybunch.

In the meantime, Get your daily dose of Vitamin A and visit Armikin Dogwalker after buying some stickers

06/27/02: I wish my boyfriend was secretly rich.

06/19/02: So, what do you think?

06/15/02: Holy Overtime Batman! I worked over 12 hours today . . . Time to relax. This sounds like a job for The Human Prune!

I shall now soak in a tub of suds to invoke this alter-ego.

06/14/02: I'm so tired. I just want to lay down and cry. I'm not really depressed. I just feel so tired. At least I got to go out with my friends tonight. It was nice to see a movie and laugh really hard. Too bad I have to work tomorrow AND Sunday. I'm workin' two straight weeks! Well, I'm not the only one and at least it's major overtime pay. To hell with working out. I'm having a Coke today.

06/13/02: I need a laugh.

It's been a long day.

06/11/02: I feel like such a fancy girl. Although I didn't make it to the gym, I did go to an art gallery reception and drank wine and ate cheese and actually knew one of the artists. I'm livin' the high life!

06/10/02: All my attempts to go to the gym are hindered by social events. Okay, so I give in a little to readily, but how could I say no to Mariner's tickets? You can't blame me for skipping out on a workout for a seat in Safeco on a beautiful summer afternoon! And don't count on me making up for it tomorrow. I'll be seeing an art exhibit by someone I work with. I feel so fancy! Hopefully, I can make up my workouts later in the week.

6/04/02: Made it to the gym again today. It helps to have someone to walk with. Then it's not so much of a chore to walk across campus just to work out. Once I make it there, then I might as well go in. I stayed for an hour, then almost took the bus home. But the wait wasn't worth the ride.

6/03/02: I love Hamtaro!

5/29/02: Haircut Time!

5/22/02: EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! LIGHTING STRIKES TWICE! I went to the gym, again!

My Tita Baby is returning to the Philippines today, so I have my afternoons free again. I worked out for an hour at the IMA yesterday. On the first machine I was on, I couldn't figure out how to reset the timer, but I believe I stayed on for about 10 minutes so as not to look like I gave up. Then I went on the rowing machine for 15 minutes, of which the first 5 was spent learning proper rowing technique. I don't know how foolish I looked, but I certainly felt silly. I couldn't help but laugh at myself, then notice that I was probably the only person smiling in that room. After 15 mins of rowing, I did a fast walk on the treadmill. This resulted in a burning sensation in the buns and hind-leg area. Now I know what they mean when they say, "Feel the burn." Finally, I spent 12 minutes on the elliptical machine, which killed me. I could barely make the walk home. I considered hanging around campus until night ride started, but that wouldn't happen until 8pm. I made it home by 7:30, ate dinner, called Juan and was asleep by 9:30. Phew!

I was thinking about going again today, but my body is seriously tired. Also, my replacement phone came in today. My cell phone crapped out on me Sunday night, so Cingular is going to replace it. I need to pick it up at Northgate Mall tonight, so I can have free long distance again :)

note to Ellaine: if you're reading this, send me you web address so I can finally see it!

5/19/02: Jun, click here and here

5/16/02: You are not as fat as you imagine yourself.

5/14/02: So, I was good yesterday and went for a walk. According to Ryan's GPS thingy, we covered 1.2 miles. Coolio. If I keep it up, I'm gonna buy myself an MP3 Player. After my Tita Baby leaves, I'll try to do something active at least 3 times a week (a walk during lunch or going to the gym).

Note to self: possible leave requests

05/13/02: My Tita Baby is here! We haven't seen her in over ten years, so we're very excited. We took her to Mt. Rainier yesterday and played in the snow. So much fun! Now she's chillin at my apartment so she can go sight-seeing in Seattle (my parent's house is in the boonies).

I also got a hold my cousin's e-mail addy so we can catch up. I hope to visit them in the Philippines in 2003 or 4. Did I already mention how excited I was?

05/09/02: Miracle of miracles! I went to the gym . . . now let's see if lighting will strike twice.

05/02/02: An e-mail I received today. The names have been modified to protect the guilty, but leave them identifiable to those who know them.

Subject: HFS Honey Ratings

Hi ya'll,

This is my reply to the rating system associated with the boys.

Lea = da' bomb (11 out of 10) Hey what can I say?

Zel = vicious vixen (11 out of 10) Its those cheap shots that keep you from being any more perfect, I mean where do they all come from?

Ness = Intuitive Investigator (12 out of 10) Nothing gets past this honey.

Ama = Tampon temptress (12 out of 10) Got Lea and Min scared out of their gas tanks to say the wrong thing.

Tina = Quiet and concise (11 out of 10) ........

All others....haven't made it past our judges. Winner: Lea? Why? She ain't Vicious, doesn't understand too much, doesn't threaten people with tampons, and speaks. Also, too much better than perfect is just a little too much perfection for this judge. Why are the scores so high? Come on people, not just anyone can be an HFS Honey.

Ciao,

Wan

Subject: The HFS Honey Guy Rating System

Hello Min - since you told Ris he is HFS Stud #2, I thought I'd fill in the blanks a little - Wan is HFS Stud #1 (on top of being Dream Wan and Fantasy Wan - he's number one because he is a tough act to follow), and you my dear are HFS Stud #5. So position #3 and #4 are free. Have fun at the concert tonight, and say hi to my boyfriend Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 for me!

Lea ^_^

04/24/02: Okay, things aren't as slow now. I have more things to do at work, which is nice. I still don't have my own work station, but that will come with time. At least the weather is nice as I have to traipse from building to building. It's nice to get to see everyone and get some fresh air. It's also good to be on salary =D

04/16/02: Here are the results to my DDR personality test . . .Things are kinda slow right now.

Come take the Comprehensive DDR Personality Test!

04/15/02: Too bad the weekend is so short. I had a great time in Vegas. I didn't spend too much time on the Strip, but I it was cool to hang out with my long lost cousins. I stayed up later than I have within the past year. Both nights, I didn't get to bed until 5. This results in me feeling like a zombie today. But it was well worth it. The only unfortunate incident was the delay of my plane, which resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Seattle, which had me home 6 hours later than intended. Sucks, but I don't want to let that ruin a great weekend.

04/12/02: Yahoo it's Friday and I'll be going to Las Vegas. It'll be fun and I get to see my long distance cousins. Also, got all my benefits stuff figured out and I'll be turning it in on Monday.

04/07/02: Needful Things
Why do I want to buy things? I don't need things. Things will just clutter my apartment and make it difficult to move.

Why do I want to build a collection of DVD's to replace my video tapes? Why do I want to spend my money on cute pieces of sticky paper shaped like cats and fat rabbits? Why am I compelled to purchase new coat that's only slightly different from my not-so-old one?

Why do even the media's most beautiful women feel compelled to diet, purge, cover-up, and air-brush?

I know Clinique's new foundation won't give me Halle Berry's facial structure. The Gap's jeans won't reshape my silhouette to match that of the waifish Zhang Ziyi. So why do I browse their sites, filling my shopping cart full of merchandise? Why am I compelled to barter a full day's wage into the hottest/latest/newest?

I hate it. I hate myself for feeling it.

On a lighter note. I got a good pair of jeans for less than 20 bucks!

04/03/02: mmmmn, adobo
  • chopped garlic
  • pork, chopped into cubes
  • vinegar
  • soy sauce
  • water

  • combine all ingredients in heated pan; boil; add vingear and soy sauce to taste; continue to boil and add water as needed until pork is soft

    04/02/O2: Happy Birthday Mom!

    04/01/02: Mashimaro-Moto!

Thanks Azalea, for the Mashimaro accessory!

03/30/02: So, I'm interested in getting an electric scooter. It would be good for city-living. I don't have to worry about parking and I could use it at work. Here are some of the scooters I've been looking at:

    03/29/02: Poem, written circa 1999.

03/28/02: Do you want to be a ninja too?

03/27/02: My brother and I are really members of an elite ninja force. Don't mess with us!

03/26/02: It's official! I am now a permanent employee of Housing and Food Services at the University of Washington will full benefits (effective April 1st . . . this better not be an April Fool's joke :p). Imagoin to the dentist!

03/20/02: Went out with some friends last night. Vanessa, Amanda, Azalea and I are sad that Brenda is leaving. Had sushi then went karaoke. Seemed like a good idea until we realized that Brenda would probably get plenty of that while doing a study abroad in Japan. . . . Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.

In other news. . .Just got out of jury duty. I claimed financial hardship so I wouldn't have to serve jury duty. Since I'm not permanent staff yet, I don't get paid for the days I miss work. At least I got out with my integrity intact!

In any case, I have my interview for the permanent position this Friday.

03/14/02: Well, I turned 24 last Saturday. That's about it.

03/06/02: Oh so busy! Things at work are picking up. I never thought I'd say this, but my work day is too short. At least it's a good busy and I'm not stressing . . . (yet).

And I went to an N'Sync concert last Monday. Not my cup of tea, but still tasty! I had a lot fun. They sang some Beatles songs, so I could sing along. The typical bubble-goppers were there, but I didn't expect to see full grown hoes. . . I think I'll stop there.

I'll be going to Vegas in April. Just for a weekend, to chill with the extended fam.

Oh and I'll be turning 24 this weekend. My mom is making a cake for me and Juan got me a bagel slicer (that's what I asked for my birthday this year).

Thanks for the bagel slicer honey-pie!

03/03/02: Plants have become my puppy-substitute. They're something that I can care for while I wait for the right time to get a dog.

As for work, things are getting busier. More calls and deadlines. At least the e-mails slow down mid-week. It's just the weekend build-up of e-mails that kill my wrist. The nice thing about a busy day is that it goes by quickly.

In other news, I may be going to an N'Sync concert on Monday. It should be interesting.

02/25/02: I just might end up with carpal tunnel if thing at work continue like they do. They've got me answering the office e-mail questions. I don't really mind, but today was a killer. A weekend's worth of questions kept me busy all day. I didn't get much time to work on my own assignments and I almost forgot to make a few important phone calls.

In any case, I'm home and resting. I looked up some stuff on my new plants . . . how to take care of them, propagate new ones, temperature, watering, etcetera. It's fairly interesting and it keeps me busy. I hope this isn't just a passing interest.

02/24/02: I was supposed to explore Ballard and Fremont today with Kahla, but she ended up with pink-eye. Poor Kahla . . . hope she feels better soon. At least I got to spend time with Ellaine. We did some grocery shopping at Costco and bought some plants and necessities at Walmart and Ikea. We cut some of our shopping costs by splitting a package of paper towels and a package of toilet paper. I think we'll do that again every once in a while.

I needed to go to Walmart to buy some potting soil and a new pot because my christmas cactus was outgrowing its current home. I guess I didn't need to go to Ikea, but it's nice to see what they have sometimes. They have good storage stuff and I have a lot of clutter. In any case, I ended up buying more plants and a few more pots. I hope to bring some plants to work.

Oh, and I washed my hair a couple times since taking my extensions out. The first shower after removing my extentions was absolute extasy! Too bad the kink in my hair is gone, but that's the way it goes. It sure was fun!

02/23/02: I just took out the last cornrow. *sigh* It was fun while it lasted, but I missed my scalp. In any case, here are the effects of month-long braids. Check out the mini-fro:

02/21/02: Man, it's been a busy work week . . . people be wanting housing.

02/15/02: We got sea monkeys at work today. Eryn bought some for Anna because they're hardier than guppies . . . which is what Anna previously owned, but they died a few days ago.

02/12/02: So, I'm getting accustomed to my hair now. It's kinda frizzy up top, but I don't mind so much. My scalp feels better, but I think I may just get a perm next time or just cornrows.

In other news, things are kinda slow at work. I don't mind working, but I don't have much to do right now. I answer phones most of the time, but even that has slowed down within the past week. Things will pick up after we send out Housing Applications for the next academic year. It reminds me what I relief it is to be out of school.

P.S. Juan sent me a box of chocolates today. Hurray! I'm the luckiest girl in the world!

P.P.S. Letter to my aunties regarding my hair:
I had been wanting to get something like this for about two years, but didn't know where to go to get it done. Plus I didn't know how to take care of it. Then one of my friends had something similar done, so I asked her about it. After some research and consulting with her beautician, I decided to try it. To be precise, the front parts are called cornrows and that's all my own hair. Then the curly parts are extensions that were braided into my hair. One of the reasons I decided to do this instead of the typical perm was because I could remove it if I didn't like it and it won't damage my own hair.

02/06/02: As much as I love the way I look in my braids, I'm having some difficulty with them. It's tough to find a comfortable sleep position and my scalp is sensitive now. On the other hand, it takes less time to look great! *haha* I recently realized how homely I will be once they're out. I'll miss feeling glamorous *sigh*

02/02/02: Woohoo! Check out my new hairdoo! It took over 12 hours to get it done, but I love it!
