THE
RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side
of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been
especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are
meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content,
except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who
had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look
once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but
never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Forever remembered:
| Indiana: Indiana was a beautiful sable and white puppy with the brightest, happiest eyes you ever saw. His favorite thing in the whole world was hiking. The mere mention of the word put him in a frenzy. He would hike ten miles with no effort at all. I was always more tired then he was at the end of the day. He was a wonderful malamute with a mild temperament. He stole the heart of all that knew him and will forever live in ours. Indy was born June 17, 1990 and died November 27, 1998 from cancer. Maryann and Bob Pasquarello of Yupik Kennels bred him. |
| Sasha: Our Sasha girl has moved on to Rainbow Bridge. Named Sasha Olivia Schmoyer-Steager (SOS), September 17, 1988 - July 23, 2001 Sasha was Kevin and my first dog, malamute (although that could have been disputed by her looks), pet and family member. She started the whole thing. With her loving disposition, incredible intelligence and endless energy, she made us fall in love with the breed. She truly tolerated me, because it was Kevin she loved, respected and admired. It was the last 5 years that she and I built our relationship. She finally succumbed to the idea of me being first in Kevin's heart and she would have to share him. It was me she came to in her pain for comfort, all the while her eyes on Kevin. She was our Frisbee dog, hiking and packing companion, lead sled dog and most favorite of all Golf Ball retriever/chaser. If titles are your thing, she had many including: BIH - Best In House WPD - Wonderful Pet Dog MLT - Mother of all Living Things (she protected all living creatures from the others in the pack) SAD - Security Alarm Dog PDL - Pack Dog Leader ASB - Approaching Storm Barometer The house is quiet now and I know in time the others will fill the void. There are wonderful memories to keep us going. I take comfort in knowing Indiana now has one of the family to run and play with on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. Together they will wait for us to be a family again. |
