The Church Building was finished when Jesus died on the cross.

Matt. 27:51 “And behold the Veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom: and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent,”

Mark, 15:38  “And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom,”

Luke, 23:45 ……..”The veil of the temple was rent in the midst.”

God’s presence left the building made by man’s hand once and for all.

Jesus now talks about another temple NOT MADE WITH HANDS, 

Mark,14:58 “I will destroy this temple that is made with hands and within three days I will build another made without hands. Also 15:29

John,2:19  Jesus answered and said unto them “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up,” 20  then said the Jews “Forty and six years was this temple in building and wilt thou rear it up in three days?” 21 But he spake of the temple of His body.”

 

The one raised up was the new temple not made with hands, the old was done away with to make way for the new,

 

We are part of this new spiritual Temple

1Peter,2:5  “Ye also as lively stones are built up a spiritual house and holy priesthood”

verse 6 tells us that Jesus is the chief corner stone.
