Scatter the bolts onto selected faces and select perpendicular .

I have an organic, sphere look body, and wanted some bolts to appear out of it, but would like the bolts to be perpendicular to the normals of the body, making it look like it has screws hanging out.  How do I set this one up in Max r3?  Especially if I have about 20+ bolts all over the place.
