You're right of course -- what needs work is the textures. I'd recommend getting a bunch of reference photos for ideas. The main thing that stands out to me though, is that the flesh is all one tone. Skin on faces varies greatly in coloration -- again check references. Caucasian flesh will be more yellow/gold where its thinner; ie the forehead area and other less fleshy areas. The fleshy areas like cheeks tend to be redder. Ears are ruddier as well. Put a sharp reflection in the eyes and some variation in the lips - they look a bit too 'perfect'. Also the skin texture is good, but maybe could be smoother in areas? What else?... The hair -- give it some variation and work on a realistic shininess. And maybe the eyebrows are too high? Hope this helps -- I know what you're saying about being "too close to the problem"... Again your model is really impressive you just need to spend a bit more time nailing those textures... Good luck! -- Jay >Date: Sun, 09 Apr 2000 11:16:50 GMT >From: khrys@chimerae.co.uk (Khrys Yuen) >To: 3dsmax@engramdigital.com >Subject: What next? >Message-ID: <38f06538.539290@post.demon.co.uk> > >I have posted a female face wip at=20 >www.goldlyon.demon.co.uk/Keri.jpg > >Apart from some general tweaking, the modelling is about complete, >however, the texturing is not.
