Or give the viewer a quick little tap dancing robot (or whatever) to keep them entertained while the page is loading. I almost left when all I saw was just a black screen (and this is on a fractional T1 line at work). I thought it was a mistake, at first. Is it possible to split the elements up so some of it loads right away instead of waiting for the whole thing to appear at once? The index on the left needs a higher contrast. It was difficult for me to make out what each line said. The rollover eventually did make it very legible but I didn't find that out until I moved the mouse over there to figure out what everything said. I'm not sure if it just me, but it was difficult for me to see a lot of detail in your gallery images. Most are very dark (night time images or outer space images usually are) and I'm not sure if that is due to the gamma settings on my monitor or the ones in your images. I had to shut the lights off in my office to see more detail (is this what prospective customers will have to do in order to see your work?). Not sure what the fix is for that. This may be personal preference, but in your "Gallery", instead of a "BACK" button, why not put in scroll buttons with "Next Image" or "Previous Image" appearing with each image? This way you don't make the viewer/customer have to back to "square 1" in order to see the rest of your images. Also, as a potential customer, when I arrived at your website and it said "Loss of Control" I would ask myself "Do I want someone with a 'Loss of Control' in charge of my project?" LOL Yes, I did read your lengthy "About Me" so I am aware of the back-story of the site name. That's something you may want to consider in regards to trying to drum up business via your web site.
