I really need to learn some maxscript. I'd like to add some options and an interface to choose inner radius, number of sides, cog every "n" sides, bevel amount, etc. I also noticed that since the script explicitly looks for the object named Tube01, it chokes if you try to make two cogs in the same scene. I wonder if there's a way to modify that. Anyway, thanks for the script, maybe this'll be a good excuse to learn some new tricks. One of the other fellas on the list mentioned that he had the source code for the old gear plugin and might be able to recompile it for max 3. -----Original Message----- From: Keith Gibbons [mailto:kgibbons@cybercomsystems.com] Sent: Sunday, April 16, 2000 5:27 PM To: Kurt Wendt; Chad Baker; 3dsmax@engramdigital.com Subject: RE: Gear plugin? > Hey folks, > > First off, I hope people aren't going to get on my case about > sending a file attachment! I read through your script. If you don't mind, I'm going to fiddle around with your script, and modify it a bit -- just for experiment purposes. I've never really tried any scripting before, so it'll just be for my own enjoyment. No one will ever see the results (I pray). Again, thanks. If you can pull this puppy off, it'll mean I'll never have to go to my cousin's office and make a Max 2.5 gear again!
