You can write script that builds up strings that are themselves scripts, then assign them to objects. So... just write a script that builds an expression script on a per object basis, and assigns it... Am I being clear? Let me know... Incidentally, a similar technique (using Maxscript to build script strings) applies for making dynamic UIs.
