After realizing how off I was on the pricing I decided to skimp even more and go with a $69.99 Umax Astra 2000p. Unfortunately its got a parallel port attachment. We'll see how annoying the speed is and if its bad I'll prolly spring for a $170 or so scsi scanner like Phil recommended. The cool thing is I got the scanner at Best Buy and they have a 30-day no-questions-asked no-restocking-fee return policy! I had to ask 3 different employees to make sure I understood the policy correctly... Cheers!
