Then also check for the scanner you decide on at www.pricewatch.com Go for SCSI as long as you have an open ISA or PCI slot. Make sure the scanner comes with a SCSI card or find a SCSI card that will work with it and account for it in your pricing. If you don't have that but are running Win98 and have USB ports then USB is next best. Last on your list should be any kind of parallel port scanner. They are slow and conflict with printers alot. I got my Umax Astra 1220S with SCSI card for $170 nearly two years ago.
