From: Tim Oliver To: '3DSMAX@Engram.net' <3DSMAX@Engram.net> Subject: Flash stuff Date: Friday, March 17, 2000 9:55 AM To continue the off-topic thread... Some of the different uses of Flash can be seen here (Macromedia, the maker of Flash software)...a sampling of sites: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/gallery/collection/ You can jump to each site from the gallery samples. Here's one I thought was interesting: http://home.mpinet.net/dgarystudios/ Chrome, anyone? Looks like some Maya modeling on the chrome parts... Michael Duffy posted this site on the Max list: http://www.wolfdenstudios.com/ I liked the little touches on this one...the birds flying in the sky (birds fly at night?) and the fireflies at the bottom. But even on my T1 at work the portfolio images took a heckuva long time to load...not good. Wonder if you can slice images for faster loading in Flash... I agree with Keith regarding the misuse/over-use of some Flash gimmicks...don't blame the tool, blame the user. Afterall, when you boil it all down, "Citizen Kane" & "Plan Nine From Outer Space" were both made using a film camera and some lights. The difference was the people using the camera and lights.
