I have two friends who do comic strip type animations in Flash.  It's
crude-looking of course, but funny.  Unfortunately, neither of my friends
have their work posted on a web site, so I can't point you to it.  Just
imagine good 2D cel animation, a la Ren and Stimpy, and you'll see my point.
Give Flash to an artist with skill and imagination, and you'll get back
useful content.
