Well, I coulda told you that :( I work for dell, and am familiar with all the desktops. Yes, the onboard sound card is cheap as cheap can be. However, there are *tons* of excellent sound cards on the market, priced from about $50 on up, that would be perfect for the higher level sound editing that you're looking for.
