It's 2D is impressive, but the 3d performance is abysmal. I would not recommend this card to anybody who is not using it to work on numerous spreadsheets at a very high resolution. My TNT2 card is many times faster for one hell of a lot less. I think the main problem is Matrox's poor implementation of openGL - they decided to create their own version, rather than stick to the OpenGL standard. The only way I found to get any sort of useful performance out of it is to use software mode. This is under Win98.
