Dual PII 500/ 256 mb ram/ gvx210 and Intergraph dual PIII Zeon 550/ 256 mb ram/ wildcat 410 this test was done in Maya render time for a sequence... PII box... 33 minutes Intergraph box..... 30 minutes Interactive scene manipulation PII box, fluid and interactive at all times... Intergraph, visably less smooth and a lag with interactive updates for numerical readouts. play animation from timeline PII played every frame Intergraph... skipped about 5 out of the 48 frames and hickuped bad durring the biggest move in the scene. The PII box was good for proofing the animation and the inergraph would have needed test renders for proofing motion. The interactive scene was about 200 smooth res nurbs spheres with a bitmap texture displaced in high res. I bought the gvx210 the next day.... bayard Mike Dudley wrote: > I just bought the GVX 210, and I'm really happy with it so far. > One thing these specs don't seem to take into account is texture memory. > When you are working on a real life scene with tons of textures, I think the > GVX210 would shine > because of the virtual textures (using up to 256 megs of your system memory) > > Just trying to feel good about my purchase :) > > MikeD > Player 1 > > Brian Witter wrote: > > > Check out http://www.ktx.com/display/r3.html.
