Date: Wednesday, March 15, 2000 7:02 AM Eni, I would stay with NT, 2000 should work and is very similar to 98 in interface and menus. But it is NT so it is robust. 2000 also has plenty of built in power management and other notebook friendly features. I would definately stay away from 98 for MAX. I teach at a college that has 98 as the OS and more times than I care to remember, I've had my demonstration interrupted by a crash or freeze. It is inconsistent for sure, but always a possiblity. You will be more comfortable with 2000. But then that is my opinion. Hi Everybody, I'm shopping for a notebook, but I've discovered that it's harder than I thought to get one with Windows NT. Most of them come with Windows 98 and a few are shipping with Windows 2000. A friend told me that Max 3.1 runs under 98, but it crashes a bit. Does anybody have any comments: can I run 3.1 under Win98 to well enough to be able to make some smaller projects? I appreciate any comments you guys may have on the subject.
