Date: Wednesday, March 15, 2000 6:55 PM Booleans can be tricky. One : what if you assign a 2-sided material to the object? Two : What version of max are you using? Three : Try doing the boolean in a different order, like selecting the text first. Four : Using 3 or 3.1? Under utilities (this may exist in 2.5, but I'm not sure) there is a section called "Collapse" You may have to choose "more" to find it. It works like this : one, go to Edit : hold because it can NOT be undone. Select the first object, like the rectangle. Then, with CTRl, select the next object or objects. Under the collapse menu, you should be able to choose boolean, there's a button you can press to do it, I don't remember what it's titled. That gives me better results, but is trickier and can't be undone. Also, try shape merging the text, as splines, to the surface of the box, and extrude the new faces inward, or bevel them by converting to an editable mesh.
