Hey all,I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I have that problem all the time! But, under Max 3.0/3.1 there is a Great workaround, due to new funtionality in Max. What ever object or vertex is selected, there is a 3D XYZ axis thingy there. If you directly click and drag on your X-axis arrow thingy, you will automatically constrain and move it along that axis!I've been FINALLY working with 3.1 (took me nearly 4 months after the upgrade to actually dust it off).
However, when I do Moves of vertices, objects, I'll click on the item and the axis orientation will shift.
For example, I'll click on Conxtrain to X Axis, then go to move the item, and the axis changes to Y. I then either have to click another axis then go back to the setting I want, or try to click REAL FAST before the axis setting swithes back after I let go of the object.
That should do the trick...
Is this a funky dongle thing?Nope, its not. But, I honestly don't know why that problem occurs with the constraints problem. Maybe someone else on this list can directly address the problem...
L8r!
