Beware too on setting up Win2k to recognize and use all the features that your MONSTER system has... And remeber: If it still doesn't work, don't blame you.... BLAME BILLY GATES!! Luck! My machine is PIII 600mHz W2k 512MB ram TNT2 ultra. with 32MB The responses I received ran along the lines of - " get a good graphics card". So I now have a FIRE GL1 with 32MB - an apparently proffesional card by the price. I would not say that there is a noticeable difference in the two. I was testing using an approx 750,000 poly scene and doing simple movement/rotation etc in smooth shaded/wireframe . Testing rendering is no difference but I would not expect a graphics card to affect the rendering speed. So my question has got to be - what is the point in buying a card like a Fire GL when you could buy a GeForce for £600 less which outperforms theTNT2 ultra and so by logical progression will outperform the FIREGL. Is it not a much better idea to buy a faster processor with the £600 difference between the fireGL and a Geforce? or is it that the FIREGL1 is not actually that good a card.
