Sopapillas
In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and margerine. Stir in water and mix until the dough is smooth but not sticky. Kneed a few times to blend and let rest covered for 30 minutes.

Roll out on a floured surface to 1/8-1/4" thickness. Cut into 3" squares or triangles. Drop into very hot oil and fry until golden browned. The Sopapillas should be puffy. Drain on paper towels.

Serve with honey, powdered sugar, sugar and cinnamon and with ice-cream if desired.

NOTES; These may also be filled with meats if disired.
2 C flour
1 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
2 T margerine
3/4 C warm water
Oil for deep frying
