Basic Bread Dough Recipe
3 C luke-warm water
1/4 t sugar
50 grams ( 2 ounces ) caked yeast
1/2 t salt
3 T oil or melted margerine
All Purpose Flour
( about 6 C )

NOTE: Add
2 eggs to liquid ingredients if recipe calls for basic bread dough recipe with eggs.
In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix water, sugar and yeast together with a whisk. Let stand for ten minutes.

Add oil or margerine and salt. Mix with the whisk while slowly sifting in the flour until the dough is sticky and stirring with the whisk is no longer easy.

Continue sifing in flour but this time mixing with your hands. Add only enough flour to make a nice elastic dough, but not sticky.

Remove from bowl onto floured surface and kneed for about 5 minutes. The dough should be soft to the touch.

Place upside-down into clean greased bowl. Turn over so that both sides are greased. Cover with damp cloth and let rise until double in bulk ( about an hour ).

Remove from bowl onto floured surface and kneed for about 1 minute. Form into desired shapes or whatever your recipe calls for.
